  1. Postpublished at 20:26 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2018

    Newcastle 0-0 Burnley

Newcastle, to their credit, haven't let their heads drop after the penalty miss. They are well on top as Nick Pope tips over Ciaran Clark's header before Mohamed Diame attempts an overhead kick. The outcome is perhaps predictable as the ball goes well wide.

  2. Postpublished at 20:25 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2018

    Tottenham 1-0 Man Utd

Another good chance for the home side, but a tame finish from their star striker.

On this occasion, Christian Eriksen plays a lovely-weighted ball from the right to find Harry Kane, who fires a weak low effort straight at David de Gea at the near post.

    The VAR debate rumbles on,,,

Sean McG: That Spurs goal would have been chalked off if VAR was being used. Harry Kane in the opposition half on kick off - goal shouldn't have counted... a call for VAR??

Richard Clayton: Harry Kane was in the Man Utd half at kick off - goal shouldn't have counted... a call for VAR??

BBC Football. With VAR spurs’ goal wouldn’t have counted. Can’t wait for it in every match.

  5. Eriksen goal controversypublished at 20:23 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2018

    Tottenham 1-0 Man Utd

There's plenty on social media at the moment pointing to Tottenham's early goal as pictures show Harry Kane - who helped flick the ball to goalscorer Christian Eriksen - was two yards inside the Manchester United half when kick-off was taken.

Some fans on social media are stating he may as well have gone and stood next to Davd de Gea. Kane stole a foot or two and Tottenham took a mile.

  6. The referee is doing a good jobpublished at 20:22 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2018

    Tottenham 1-0 Man Utd

    Jermaine Jenas
    Former Tottenham midfielder at Wembley

Andre Marriner has got to stay strong and stick to his guns.

He's doing a good job and allowing the flow of the game to continue.

It's a fantastic game but Kane has got the beating of Jones and Smalling.

  7. Postpublished at 20:22 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2018

    Tottenham 1-0 Man Utd

Anthony Martial gets the ball near the corner flag but tricks his way into a shooting position on his left foot before lifting high over the bar. He ran the first three legs of the relay, but botched the glory leg.

    Chelsea 0-0 Bournemouth

Chelsea starting to click into gear now as Eden Hazard just fails to connect with a cross before Ross Barkley's shot has the sting taken out of it by a Bournemouth defender and Asmir Begovic gratefully scoops up the ball.

  9. PENALTY SAVED!published at 20:19 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2018

    Newcastle 0-0 Burnley

Joselu takes the spot kick... saved!

Terrible penalty to be fair, tame and too close to keeper Nick Pope.

    Fernandinho (19 mins)

    Silky.

Kevin de Bruyne - previously mentioned - threads a pass through to Fernandinho - also previously mentioned - who in turn slots an angled drive past the reach of Ben Foster.

And that will be how many points clear by the end of the day's play?

  11. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 20:19 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2018

    Southampton 0-1 Brighton

That would have been one the freak goals of the season!

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg chases down a backpass played to Mat Ryan. The keeper tries to clear the ball, but it flies off Hojbjerg's back and then cannons off the crossbar!

    Absolutely extraordinary!

    Watch it on MOTD later.

  12. PENALTY TO NEWCASTLEpublished at 20:18 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2018

    Newcastle 0-0 Burnley

Kenedy is brought down inside the box. Chance for Newcastle...!

  13. Postpublished at 20:18 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2018

    Everton 1-0 Leicester

Any response from Leicester to that Everton goal? Not yet, the hosts are well in control.

  14. Postpublished at 20:16 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2018

    Man City 0-0 West Brom

    Kevin De BruyneImage source, Reuters

Kevin de Bruyne - who you know is pretty good at shooting - tries to catch out Baggies' Ben Foster at the near post with a low drive, but doesn't as the keeper scurries back in time.

    Great scurrying Ben.

  15. Postpublished at 20:15 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2018

    Chelsea 0-0 Bournemouth

Gary Cahill flicks a header from Pedro's corner just over the bar for Chelsea.

Best chance of a pretty dull game so far.

  16. Postpublished at 20:13 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2018

    Southampton 0-1 Brighton

Ryan Bertrand spanks one from left of the area which ripples the top of the netting - Brighton keeper Mat Ryan appeared to have that one covered.

    It's simmering at St Mary's.

  17. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 20:13 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2018

    Newcastle 0-0 Burnley

Ashley Barnes pokes the ball through Karl Darlow's legs and into the Newcastle goal but the linesman has his flag up. There was a foul in the build up.

  18. Pogba is vital for Unitedpublished at 20:12 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2018

    Tottenham 1-0 Man Utd

    Jermaine Jenas
Former Tottenham midfielder at Emirates Stadium

I can't reiterate more just how positively Manchester United have reacted to that goal.

In games like tonight, Paul Pogba is vital. He will need to find the balance between attacking and supporting, which is United's biggest weakness.

  19. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 20:12 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2018

    Chelsea 0-0 Bournemouth

Chelsea haven't got into their groove yet and an early enforced change won't help them.

Andreas Christensen appears to have tweaked his hamstring and Antonio Rudiger is on in his place.

  20. Postpublished at 20:12 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2018

    Stoke 0-0 Watford

Not a great deal happening inside the Potters yard.

A few moments ago, Stoke's Mame Biram Diouf headed wide from a Charlie Adam cross.
