Jamie, Plymouth: Arsenal need a fresh start, Wenger needs to leave for the sake of the club, Özil & Sanchez will undoubtedly leave too. Wipe the slate clean & trust in youngsters - the academy products can do it!

Peter Nightingale, Herts: Going to play Wenger Excuse Bingo before his interview.

  5. Forest wanted it morepublished at 18:00 Greenwich Mean Time 7 January 2018

    Nottingham Forest 4-2 Arsenal

    Conor McNamara
    BBC Radio 5 live commentator

This Arsenal team has been good enough in the past but this does show the deterioration of the club.

They have lost the ability to turn up and beat a team from a lower league and don't forget, Forest were not at full strength either.

This was simply a day where Nottingham Forest wanted it more.

Where next for Arsenal? They may well be playing as strong a team as possible in their two legs against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup semi-final. The first of those matches is at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday.

The Gunners have no chance of winning the Premier League and have just thrown away the defence of their FA Cup at the first opportunity.

People question the magic of the FA Cup. But we've seen it today.

Forest have been incredible to a man. They fought harder and they deserve their win today.

The Arsenal players are complaining to the referee but it doesn't matter as they were beaten before that second penalty.

Christopher Lawrence: Hands down, the worst Arsenal performance I have seen. Ignore any excuses you may hear. Just awful.

James: Wenger will no doubt drag out his usual whinging about the referee. It can't disguise poor selection and a lack of leadership.

Jack Jenkins: The perfect cup game. Not stopped smiling. Proper bangers and mash FA cup game. Thank you Forest.

The Arsenal players are furious with referee Jon Moss. Per Mertesacker is remonstrating with the referee, insisting that fourth goal - Kieran Dowell's penalty - should never have been given.

But let's not take anything from Nottingham Forest. They have been the better team, they deserve the victory and they got the victory.

Arsene Wenger's selection gamble backfires, in a spectacular way.

I was just saying this game has had everything but a red card.

    On the penalty:

From our point of view, it looked like Dowell had hit it with his front foot.

The referee spoke to his assistant and between them they gave the goal.

It was a big decision for Dowell to take the penalty and he has got a good bit of fortune.

  17. RED CARD - Joe Worrall (Nottingham Forest)published at 88 mins

A straight red card for Joe Worrall and Nottingham Forest are down to 10 men. It was a foul on Chuba Akpom.

GOAL - Nottingham Forest 4-2 Arsenalpublished at 17:46 Greenwich Mean Time 7 January 2018

    Kieran Dowell (Nottingham Forest)

Arsene Wenger has been unhappy at penalties awarded against his side. He is not going to be happy with this controversy.

The Arsenal players say the penalty should not have stood, claiming Kieran Dowell touched it twice - kicking the ball against his standing leg - as he slipped while taking it.

Referee Jon Moss chats with the assistant, but the goal is given. Arsenal again are two behind.

  19. Postpublished at 17:45 Greenwich Mean Time 7 January 2018

Wait just a minute. Wait just a minute. The ball is in the net. But did Kieran Dowell touch the ball twice? He slipped as he took it.

  20. PENALTY to Nottingham Forestpublished at 81 mins

    Nottingham Forest 3-2 Arsenal

Debuchy on Traore. Penalty. The tackle is from behind, but did he get the ball?

It looks a penalty to me. Forest have a chance for a fourth. Debuchy and Ospina booked.
