  7. Burnley do score here, but.....published at 15:30 Greenwich Mean Time 6 January 2018

    Man City 0-1 Burnley

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport at the Etihad Stadium

Burnley's goal should not have come as much surprise.

On four previous visits to the Etihad Stadium, they have scored on three occasions and a total of six times.

The problem has already been at the other end, when they have never conceded less than two.

City need to maintain that record if they are to win today.

  8. goal

GOAL - Newcastle 1-0 Lutonpublished at 15:30 Greenwich Mean Time 6 January 2018

    Ayoze Perez (30 mins)

    Deadlock broken.

Dwight Gayle fires a free-kick at goal from the angle of the area and goalkeeper Marek Stech looks to have caught it, only for the ball to spill from his grasp. As he dives to ground to collect the loose ball it squirms away from him and Ayoze Perez throws himself in there where the boots are flying to bundle the ball home.

    Ugly. Just ugly.

  10. Game over?published at 15:29 Greenwich Mean Time 6 January 2018

    Exeter 0-2 West Brom

    Clive Allen
Former England forward on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

West Brom keep getting crosses into the heart of the Exeter defence. They have to stop it at source because once it's in the box the home team are not clearing their lines. It bounced around, fell kindly for Rodriguez and he's smashed it home. This game might already have been put to bed by West Brom.

GOAL - Man City 0-1 Burnleypublished at 15:24 Greenwich Mean Time 6 January 2018

    Ashley Barnes (25 mins)

Unintentional, but beautiful, sliced pass from City defender John Stones from a long punt downfield allows Ashley Barnes to run in on goal and smash a stunning strike past Claudio Bravo.

    Terrible mistake, but great goal.

Newcastle bossing possession now and Ayoze Perez has gone close from range. Those travelling Luton hordes are in good voice though.

  20. Ederson has made such a differencepublished at 15:21 Greenwich Mean Time 6 January 2018

    Man City 0-0 Burnley

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport at the Etihad Stadium

It is impossible to overstate the importance Ederson's arrival at Manchester City has had on Pep Guardiola's team this season.

The Brazilian has been outstanding in his debut campaign, a far cry from last season, when Claudio Bravo's travails were picked apart every week.

Bravo is back in goal today. He just attempted to roll a pass to Nicolas Otamendi, who was stood to his right on the goal-line. It went out for a corner.

The Burnley fans enjoyed that one.
