Both managers at The Hawthorns have reacted to an incident involving Jay Rodriguez and Gaetan Bong.

The pair argued on the pitch after coming together before the West Brom striker pinched his own nose. Brighton defender Bong appeared incensed.

Referee Martin Atkinson did not book either player but did make a note of it.

Brighton boss Chris Hughton said: "There was something said to Gaeten Bong byJay Rodriguez which has been reported to the referee. There was an incident.

"We'll go through the right channels. The referee is aware of it. There was an allegation and something which will then go through the correct channels. I have spoken to the referee and that will got in his report to the FA."

West Brom boss Alan Pardew said: "There has been an allegation made. I know Jay well and I'll be surprised if it is anything."

Chelsea

Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois speaking to MOTD: "Obviously we wanted to win the game, and at the end with 10-men we pressed them, but for 70 minutes of the game they were the better team.

"Obviously we all feel a little bit tired, last year we went from week to week, but now we have already played a lot of games. But it's not excuse, Leicester had more intensity than us and more aggression, they started very offensive and pressed us high up the pitch."

On Chelsea players feeling fatigued: "Having the replay against Norwich didn't do us a favour, because we have lost the recovery week, but now we have another important game, because we want to go far in the FA Cup like last year. We just have to keep working and keep trying to win every game."

Huddersfield Town

Huddersfield head coach David Wagner speaking to BBC MOTD: "It's not about the position in the table - this is a good one - but our performance was below par. Especially individually we had too many players who were below par.

"The first three goals (for West Ham) were more or less like own goals.

"We are not able to win a football match in the Premier League by doing that. It is too easy and that is why we lost today.

"There were things which we cannot do at this level. We made three of those mistakes in one game - hopefully we will make none in the next.

"Over the whole season we are in the same region - we are aware of what we need to do. It is about us staying up. That is what we are working at. We need to do it better and we have done in the past. We know where we went wrong. It wasn't an issue of fighting spirit or attitude.

"It isn't a case of that we needed new players - it was something that made sense and the two signings we made very much made sense. I am absolutely happy they are with us and they will help us reach our targets."

Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez remained upbeat following his side's draw with Swansea but he may well be sick of the sight of St James' Park.

His side have now not won there in seven league games, their worst run since Alan Shearer and Joe Kinnear were at the helm in 2009.

Perhaps more alien for Benitez is the fact this is the longest he has gone without a home win as a manager in the Premier League.

Brent, London: Arsenal against West Brom and now Watford against Southampton. About time VAR came in for league games.

Johnny: Classic Southampton luck. 2-0 up and then somebody punches the ball into the net and it counts. I absolutely hate loving football.

Alan: Correction - It’s not the referee that has cost Southampton the win, he has been conned by a cheat called Doucoure. Come on people let’s call it. Hell, he even had the nerve to celebrate.

Southampton

Southampton manager Mauricio Pellegrino speaks to Match of the Day about Abdoulaye Doucoure equalising with his hand: "For sure (should have won) but football is like this sometimes, small details change everything. We are very sad but we have to accept the rules. It's part of football. Even in the second half they were playing more direct, I don't remember many clear chances, just second balls. They are stronger than us in this physical battle.

"I am sad, I didn't see a team dominate the second half to score two goals. I never see this type of mistake in the Premier League before. To live this injustice is really hard. I think we have to try (VAR) and analyse if it's possible to help the sport to make better decisions, even for the referee.

"The last four games the team is growing. Playing in this way it’s easy for everybody because I’m sure we’ll win games."

Swansea City

Swansea boss Carlos Carvalhal on the relegation fight: "When we arrive I believe no one outside Swansea believed we can stay in the Premier League but I believe when we achieve a draw here playing good football against a good team and especially second half against Tottenham but I think people will look and see these guys are reacting. It’s our challenge, we are achieving points in a difficult situation, but we are reacting.

On transfers:"I believe we will achieve new players soon, hopefully in next few days and hopefully two or three good players. I am pleased with my players but we have some gaps - I think my players deserve that we bring in some class players to achieve another level."

Swansea City

Swansea manager Carlos Carvalhal speaking to Match of the Day:"I’m very happy, two away games and we get four points – it’s not excellent but it is good and against Tottenham we had no points but we played well and deserve more. This game we prepared really well to play with the ball, I think we had 57 per cent possession but we also tried to move the ball into the spaces to create damage to the defensive organisation of Newcastle.

"We corrected at the break and the second half we controlled the game, with and without ball, they get the goal in a strange position as it’s almost four players against one but this is football. I am very happy with the player’s commitment, they were very good in these games and we are doing the things we are training on.

On possible penalty:"I must be honest from the bench I didn’t see in that moment. My assistant says that it’s a very clear penalty and a red card also, so it’s another decision that creates something important but what can we do? Nothing, only talk about this. This is one of the situations VAR will in the future say clear penalty – it will be clear."

Newcastle United

Newcastle manager Rafael Benitez speaking to Match of the Day: “I think that it’s more or less something we have seen in the past, we created enough chances to score in the first half and then we concede. It’s always difficult when you draw at home to be happy but the main thing is the reaction and how we were pushing at the end.

“We have to learn that every single mistake can cost you and we can’t make these mistakes. With the first half chances we could change the game but we couldn’t do it and we must take these chances so we can manage the game in another way.

“We know with a new manger they have confidence and are playing well but I think the reaction after the goal is the most positive thing. I thought our mobility and pace could cause problems but Dwight got a kick and I’m happy for Joselu to get his goal."

On transfers: "We are trying to have some targets and hopefully we can have some players before the end. I think it has been a problem for us because you need this quality to win you games.

Marko Arnautovic had a hand in three goals in a single Premier League game for the first time in his career (one goal, two assists).

Arnautovic may not yet be a West Ham legend but what about Mark Noble?

He has now scored (35) or assisted (27) 62 Premier League goals for West Ham - only Paolo Di Canio (78) has had a hand in more for the club.

Chelsea

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte speaking to MOTD: "I think we played with a lot of top players against Arsenal, and then again today against a very good team. I think a lot of our players were tired.

"In the first half Leicester ran more than us, they played better than us. But we knew we were playing against a good opponent, maybe the worst opponent we could have played in this moment. We suffered a lot in the first half."

On Alvaro Morata: "I don't think it is only Morata's problem, also the other players, because we are not scoring goals, we are not conceding, but we are not creating chances.

On Gary Cahill's injury: "I think he is with the doctor now, but it's okay, I do not think it was serious."

Wayne Hennessey is a goalkeeper yet....

He made more passes than any other Crystal Palace player in the match (36).

Watford

Watford manager Marco Silva to Sky Sports: "I have a different opinion. I talk about the match, two different halves.

"I don't need to talk about the goal. Something can happen and this season we've had decisions go against us. I understand Southampton are unhappy like I was not one time, more than one time when the mistake is against us. It can happen."

Burnley

Burnley boss Sean Dyche speaks to Match of the Day: "A really tight affair. I think overall we deserved something from the game, a draw really. It was a bit of a ding dong, them better in the first half, us in the second.

"Roy has the side very organised. They did really well in the first half but we got back on top in the second half. It comes down to a couple of missed chances from us and they have taken one.

"I was pleased with the mentality second half. That's what's changed this season away from home - 17 points on the road is no mean feat. We are taking the game on more.

"It is a fact we are six without a win. We are Burnley Football Club, we are progressing. We won three out of four just before that. If you mix it up over the season we are moving forward. You have to be the right side of the margins and we just haven't been this month."

Leicester City

Leicester boss Claude Puel on Ben Chilwell's sending off:"I think it's harsh, it's harsh. The two yellow cards - it is not balanced. It's difficult to accept, but the point makes it a little bit okay."

On Riyad Mahrez's future at Leicester: "We can see from today he is enjoying his football, he is happy in playing, in training, he is happy with us and his team-mates. There is a lot of speculation about the players, but of course we are happy with him, and we want to keep our best player."
