And there we go. Game, set and match.

Callum Paterson has his second goal of the game - a Kenneth Zohore free-kick ricochets into the path of the former Hearts man and he drills an angled shot into the corner of the net.

With that, Cardiff make two changes. Anthony Pilkington and Liam Feeney replaced Junior Hoilett and Zohore.

Cardiff are dominating possession now and it wouldn't surprise me if they get a third before this match is out.

Even manager Neil Warnock even getting some time on the ball.

Chris Russell: Coleman out of his depth? No... Sir Alex Ferguson in his prime would struggle with this squad. The mismanagement of our club is a disgrace.

Almost a birthday goal for Sol Bamba.

A corner drops to the feet of the big Cardiff centre-back but he blazes over from 12 yards.

Kyle: Awful start to the second half for Sunderland. Can see Cardiff scoring another 2 or 3. Sunderland's lack of a goal threat is a huge worry too.

Dan Bell: Sunderland are heading to League One. Coleman looks out of his depth.

Sunderland will remain bottom of the Championship unless they can mount a miraculous comeback in the final 20-odd minutes.

    Cardiff 2-0 Sunderland

Out of nowhere, Sunderland hit the post!

It looked like Cardiff's Bruno Manga sliced wildly as he tried to clear a free-kick and nearly diverted it into his own net.

    Cardiff 2-0 Sunderland

Yanic Wildschut makes a good first impression for Cardiff, bursting through the Sunderland defence and teeing up Kenneth Zohore.

Robbin Ruiter denies him from eight yards and it's hacked clear.

    Somehow Sunderland escape.

It was a great finish by Joe Ralls, but the credit must go to Kenneth Zohore for that second Cardiff goal.

Cardiff's big Danish striker impresses me every time I watch him.

Quick, powerful, direct, neat on the ball and a good finisher - he's got all the attributes needed to be a Premier League striker.

But will it be next season with Cardiff?

Well, if Sunderland looked relatively comfortable at 0-0, the match has unravelled for them in the space of 10 second-half minutes.

With two goals for Cardiff and that red card for Didier Ndong, the visitors look shellshocked.

As soon as Joe Ralls swept home the hosts' fine second goal, the Bluebirds fans taunted Sunderland's Swansea-born manager, Chris Coleman, with chants of: "Coleman, what's the score?"

Debut time for Yanic Wildschut, who makes his first appearance since joining Cardiff on loan from Norwich earlier this week.

Wildschut, a rapid winger, is on for Nathaniel Mendez-Laing.

Sunderland are making a change too - Joel Asoro replaces Lynden Gooch.

Cardiff counter-attack, great strength by Kenneth Zohore, Jack Clarke-Salter's got to do better. Great finish by the lad Joe Ralls but who's tracking him?

What a second goal for the hosts!

Cardiff clear a set-piece and Kenneth Zohore's direct run takes him away from Jake Clarke-Salter down the left touchline.

Zohore squares brilliantly for Joe Ralls and it's a wonderful first-time finish past Robbin Ruiter.

The battle between the two captains - Cardiff's Sean Morrison and Sunderland's John O'Shea - at set-pieces is worth keeping an eye on. Lots of tussling and grappling between the two.

A crucial 10 minutes or so ahead for 10-man Sunderland.

If they concede a second goal quickly, this could turn into a long afternoon for the Black Cats.

I'd like to see it again. The Cardiff City players played a big part in getting him sent-off.

Oh dear - it goes from bad to worse for Sunderland.

Didier Ndong challenges Junior Hoilett for a 50-50 ball but his studs are up. His foot bounces off the ball and follows through onto the shin of Hoilett.

    Red card.

If Cardiff hang on, they'll be up to second in the Championship for a couple of hours at least. They'll also end that run of four consecutive league defeats.

Defender Bruno Manga tries a dipping shot from 25 yards but it flies over.

You could easily have written the script, straight after half-time we concede. What was Robbin Ruiter doing? He was in no-mans land and then he appeals for a foul?

What I've seen, you have to look at the goalkeeper. No-mans land.
