    Sheffield Wednesday 0-0 Cardiff

Again, it's too easy for Cardiff.

Junior Hoilett wiggles past a pair of Sheffield Wednesday defenders down the right, but he sends his low cross in too close to Owls keeper Joe Wildsmith.

The hosts do threaten a few moments later, with Jordan Rhodes' cross just a little too high for Lucas Joao.

  2. Postpublished at 18 mins

    Sheffield Wednesday 0-0 Cardiff

I'd be a little concerned as a Sheffield Wednesday fan watching this game.

The Owls keep misplacing passes, giving Cardiff plenty of opportunities to steal the ball.

Yanic Wildschut wins a corner for the visitors with a long-distance effort deflected over the bar, before Morgan Fox makes a crucial clearance at the back post from the set-piece.

    Sheffield Wednesday 0-0 Cardiff

Cardiff have the ball in the net, long after the whistle had blown.

Kenneth Zohore is perhaps harshly judged to have fouled a Sheffield Wednesday defender before whipping the ball into the top corner from at least 30 yards out.

Stunning finish, just several seconds after his opponents had stopped playing.

I'll gladly take a live text commentator's curse when it helps kick the action up a notch.

A moment after telling you not much was happening, Wednesday defender Morgan Fox has to make a strong saving challenge to deny Jazz Richards a shot on goal.

The Owls then break up the other end, with Marko Grujic happy to accept a yellow card for stopping Adam Reach charging forward.

    Sheffield Wednesday 0-0 Cardiff

Admittedly, we were spoiled by today's early games, but this one isn't living up to those standards in the first few minutes.

Neither side has shown much ability to keep hold of the ball, and neither keeper has been tested just yet.

Plenty of time for it to spring to life though.

  6. Postpublished at 3 mins

    Sheffield Wednesday 0-0 Cardiff

The first Sheffield Wednesday attack of the game fizzles out as Adam Reach puts a bit too much on a cross from the right.

Reach did well to make himself a fair bit of space, beating Sol Bamba with pace and trickery, but he didn't have too many team-mates to aim at.

  7. Kick-offpublished at 1 min

    Sheffield Wednesday 0-0 Cardiff

Cardiff get the evening game started at Hillsborough.

If the early matches are any indication, this should be a cracker.

  10. 31 goals in 10 Championship gamespublished at 17:23 Greenwich Mean Time 20 January 2018

Thirty-one goals in one day sounds like a lot to me - however, it's not even the most on a single matchday this season!

On Saturday, 4 November 34 goals were scored in the second tier, while there were also 31 goals scored on Saturday, 2 December.

Let's hope we'll get a goalfest at Hillsborough to boost today's numbers.

  12. Luhukay seeking first winpublished at 17:16 Greenwich Mean Time 20 January 2018

Sheffield Wednesday v Cardiff (17:30 GMT)

Jos Luhukay was not exactly a household name in England when he was announced as Sheffield Wednesday boss on 5 January.

A goalless draw in the Steel City derby against Sheffield United in his first game in charge probably didn't do much to catapult him into the public's imagination either.

A first win as Owls boss might do something to change that, and - more importantly - lift his side nine points clear of the relegation zone.

It was not a happy festive period for Neil Warnock's Cardiff City, losing four successive games to slip out of the automatic promotion places.

The Bluebirds responded in style last weekend, putting four past Sunderland to get their promotion campaign back on course.

This evening they travel to Hillsborough hoping to prove their recent struggles were just a small bump on the road to the Premier League.

So much to catch up on in League Two, but let's start at Forest Green, where the hosts claimed a huge victory in their bid to avoid relegation, beating Cambridge 5-2.

They're not done yet at Mansfield, where a very late CJ Hamilton goal appears to have won their game against Cheltenham 3-2, who are down to nine men.
