Villa have created more chances, but Sam Gallagher has probably had the best chance of the game for Birmingham.

Villa have been on the front foot but this game can still go either way.

The first 25 minutes were all about Villa, who dominated but couldn't find a breakthrough, and then Birmingham came back in to the game pretty well before the break.

The visitors will be relatively happy with the half-time score, overall.

There's the half-time whistle. Both sides have hit the woodwork, but Villa have been the better team so far.

The fourth official, Darren Bond, indicates four minutes of added time at the end of this first half.

Blues right-back Carl Jenkinson gets the games first booking, for a foul on Alan Hutton.

The resulting free-kick is headed away from inside the six-yard box by Maikel Kieftenbeld.

That's the best chance Birmingham have had by a country mile.

He got himself into a good position, did everything a good striker should do by going across the goal but it's smacked the inside of the post.

Blues go inches from taking the lead! A clever ball from Jacques Maghoma down the right releases Sam Gallagher behind the Villa defence.

From an angle, Gallagher drills low on to the inside of the post, before fluffing the rebound over the bar.

That's the Blues' best chance so far, by a long way.

After good work from Jack Grealish out wide, Albert Adomah has a shot from range from a central position, but his effort bounces half-a-yard wide.

Albert Adomah smacks a powerful shot at goal from the left, inside the box, but it's straight at keeper David Stockdale, who makes the save, blocking it away.
