  2. 'Some of the lads are in tears'published at 23:11 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2018

Chelsea 1-1 Norwich (5-3 on pens)

    Norwich City

Norwich manager Daniel Farke speaking to BBC Sport: "To be honest it's big disappointment, some of the lads are sitting with tears in their eyes in the dressing room. It was a brilliant performance from us and we were so close to winning against the current Premier League champions. I can't praise my lads for their attitude and this performance enough, it's a shame we aren't in the next round, but I'm so proud of my lads.

"I think in general it was a brilliant performance, definitely, we defended well as a team, and we created chances, we hit the post and the bar, so we were close. We showed that when we are at our best we can play with the best teams, so the lads can be confident. But, it won't help us in the next game, and now, we just have to stay concentrated in the league."

On VAR decisions: "I don't want to criticise the referees, because they were on the other side to the incident and they were some really tough decisions to make. It is how it is, there are mistakes in football, players make them, managers make them, and referees make them, it is how it is."
