J'Meme: Kinda sad not to see Barkley in the line-up, maybe he's not fit enough yet. Felt like this could have been a game he would do terrific in.

Liam, Elgin: Norwich is a team that will take confidence from their recent run, they did last time only being stopped at Arsenal. They wont let that happen again! I think there could be a serious upset

Mark: I want to see Gianfranco Zola, Claude Puel and Ben Stiller in the same room. Somebody make this happen!

    Big ask, that, Mark...

  2. 'We need to improve our finishing'published at 19:38 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2018

    Chelsea v Norwich (20:00 GMT)

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte, speaking to BBC Sport on his side's struggles to score: "The positive aspect is that we are conceding less than the past but the same time we are not scoring. We need to improve the quality of our finishing.

"I am in favour of VAR. It is a good option to improve the football. It is right this way."

Joe: He averages less than one goal every three games, elbows all over the place... If Andy Carroll is the answer I can only assume the question must have been 'What's the worst piece of business that the reigning Premier League champions could do?'

David Sansom: Chelsea signing Andy Carroll wouldn’t be that bad if it didn’t mean Arsenal getting Aubameyang and United getting Sanchez!

Chelsea need a lift, they need a win tonight. Three 0-0s on the spin, yet to win this year. Some boos against Leicester and again Antonio Conte has changed the team around.

    They need a good performance.

Steve, North Wales: Conte's team choice has another blank written all over it

Mr Ineffable: If Conte gave Batshuayi some game time and then decided on Carroll I would be OK..... but this is Mohammed Salah, Kevin De Bruyne, Lukaku saga all over again

Dave Rooke: A year to the day Sean Raggett was playing for Lincoln as they beat Ipswich. What odds him coming off the bench for Norwich and scoring the winner

Who thinks Norwich have a real chance against this Chelsea line-up?

    Swansea v Wolves (19:45 GMT)

With new manager Carlos Carvalhal making it clear that Premier League safety takes priority for his squad, Swansea have made eight changes for the visit of Championship leaders Wolves.

Alfie Mawson, Tom Carroll and Jordan Ayew are the only players retained from the weekend's draw with Newcastle in the Premier League.

Ki Sung-yueng, Martin Olsson, Sam Clucas, Nathan Dyer and Oliver McBurnie are available from the bench if needed.

Wolves, who are directly below Swansea in the football pyramid, also make eight changes form their goalless draw with Barnsley at the weekend.

Striker Helder Costa and defenders Matt Doherty and Barry Douglas are those to remain.

The visitors also have a strong bench available in reserve, with all six outfield players having started in their last league outing.

Swansea: Nordfeldt, Naughton, Fernandez, Mawson, Roberts, Carroll, Roque, Fer, Narsingh, Bony, Ayew.

Wolverhampton: Norris, Roderick Miranda, Batth, Hause, Doherty, White, N'Diaye, Douglas, Helder Costa, Mir, Enobakhare.

    Chelsea v Norwich (19:45 GMT)

Chelsea make nine changes from the 0-0 draw with Leicester at the weekend, with most of their cup regulars starting. Willy Caballero is in goal, while Pedro, Willian, Michy Batshuayi, David Luiz, Kenedy, Ethan Ampadu, Danny Drinkwater and Davide Zappacosta all get a run-out.

Norwich City name a strong side, only one change from the team who beat Bristol City 1-0. Harrison Reed takes the place of Alexander Tettey, who has been tired this week.

Chelsea: Caballero, Azpilicueta, Luiz, Ampadu, Zappacosta, Drinkwater, Bakayoko, Kenedy, Willian, Batshuayi, Pedro.

Norwich: Gunn, Hanley, Zimmermann, Klose, Ivo Pinto, Reed, Vrancic, Lewis, Maddison, Oliveira, Murphy.

    Chelsea v Norwich (19:45 GMT)

Rather than the 'highlights' of the goalless draw between these two earlier this month, watch this wonderful strike by the masterful Gianfranco Zola in the third-round FA Cup tie between Chelsea and Norwich back in 2002.

That game ended 4-0 to the Blues. A similar amount of goals and a strike of Zola's quality tonight would do nicely.

Zola is part of the BBC Sport punditry team at Stamford Bridge tonight. Coverage coming up from 19:30 GMT.

Zak: From a Chelsea fan's perspective I wouldn't mind Andy Carroll (as long as we don't pay above £30m and he manages to stay fit).

Yousuf: Of course Andy Carroll is the answer; if we're looking for someone to keep in bubble wrap.

Pedro and Willian are two of the most unlucky players I know, because every time I see them play, they look creative, pacey and dangerous. They've suffered because of the system Antonio Conte's wanted to play - with Eden Hazard in the no.10 - but tonight they've got a real chance to impress and stake a claim for a regular place in the starting XI.

Chelsea fans should have been getting a glimpse of Ross Barkley in a Chelsea shirt tonight, but an administrative error scuppered that.

The midfielder was signed from Everton on 5 January - the night before the 0-0 draw at Carrow Road - but because the deal was not completed before the midday deadline, he cannot play in this FA Cup fixture.

Antonio Conte was not aware that little detail until pretty recently.

"He’s not able to play because the transfer was late," he said. "Two days ago I was sure Ross Barkley could play against Norwich. Then I was informed about this new situation."

Welcome to Stamford Bridge for tonight’s 3rd round FA Cup replay between Chelsea and Norwich.

Since the turn of the year Chelsea have played four matches and they haven’t won one. In fact, they have drawn the last three 0-0.

Looking at the team news it looks like Conte has switched back to the formation that won Chelsea the Premier League last season and is playing Willian and Pedro behind Batshauyi. His last goals come in a 4 - 2 win over Watford back in October.

As for Norwich, Josh Murphy and Alex Pritchard were excellent in the game at Carrow Road but Pritchard has since joined Huddersfield.

James Maddison is also one to watch. A midfielder who has been linked with a move to Tottenham.

Ross Barkley and Norwich’s new signing, Marcus Edwards can’t play because they both weren’t registered before the first game at Carrow Road.

    Swansea v Wolves (19:45 GMT)

    Dafydd Pritchard

Despite being a division lower than their opponents, Wolves were made favourites for the original tie by the bookies and they justified the billing with an authoritative display at Molineux which arguably warranted more than a goalless draw.

They are 10 points clear at the top of the Championship and, after a big-spending summer which saw them sign the likes of Ruben Neves, Wolves have the strength in depth which could see them rest some of their leading players at Swansea.

The hosts’ manager, Carlos Carvalhal, said he would make changes and, with his team bottom of the Premier League table, it is clear his priority is top-flight survival.
