Burnley manager Sean Dyche: "If you look, every single club, other than the top six, have had various spells like we've just had.

"Some, who are struggling a little bit down at the bottom, have had three or four spells.

"That's how difficult the Premier League is. When we had a really good run I said the margins were tight and we were on the right side of them. We want to get back to doing that."

Plenty of floodlights on around the grounds - it's particularly gloomy at Goodision.

A day for thermals, bovril and gloves. Let's have plenty of goals to warm us all up please!

    Leicester v Watford (15:00 GMT)

    John Motson
    Match of the Day commentator

At first glance, this fixture appears to be a mid-table clash with little riding on it. However, both sides will be anxious to turn around their recent poor form.

Leicester might feel they should have won at Chelsea last weekend, and Claude Puel has them playing attractive football. However, they have been without their regular back four for a while and question marks remain over the future of Riyad Mahrez, who has excelled of late.

Watford have looked out of sorts ever since Marco Silva was linked to the Everton job in November.

Their last win at Leicester was a 2-1 Championship victory in 2013. The Foxes' goalscorer that day was a young loanee named Harry Kane. I wonder what's happened to him?

  5. Got to be better than Boxing Day...published at 14:33 Greenwich Mean Time 20 January 2018

Everton v West Brom (15:00 GMT)

    Martin Fisher
    Match of the Day commentator

For those of us who had the misfortune to witness the drab goalless draw when these sides met at The Hawthorns on Boxing Day I sincerely hope there's a significant upgrade in quality this time around.

Everton were poor that day and haven't picked up a point since. The goals have dried up too, hence the arrival of Theo Walcott hot-on-the-heels of Turkey international Cenk Tosun.

Victory over Brighton finally ended Albion's five-month wait for a Premier League win. If they repeat that success at Goodison they could climb out of the relegation zone.

  6. Bad year so far?published at 14:30 Greenwich Mean Time 20 January 2018

Arsenal v Crystal Palace (15:00 GMT)

    Arsenal

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger: "I agree completely that 2018 until now has not been very positive, but I am long enough in the job to know that what is important is how we respond to it and to focus on the performance.

"My personal situation is a bit secondary to all of that, what is important is how the team responds and what we make of 2018.

"We have to very quickly get over this transfer period because, for us especially, this period has been more disturbing than ever. We have such influential players close to the end of their contracts and it has been more destabilising than ever."

    Stoke v Huddersfield (15:00 GMT)

    Jermaine Jenas
Former Tottenham midfielder on BBC 5 live

Stoke's season starts here. Against Manchester United I saw signs of goals, they were positive going forwards and they had chances.

The fans were positive and that will have an impact on their season too.

    Brighton 0-4 Chelsea

A scoreline which doesn't tell the whole story. Brighton played as well as I've seen all season and should have scored at least one, could have had a penalty as well.

But Eden Hazard was absolutely brilliant.

Nick Pope has been great since he came into the team, it's not easy to do that at Premier League level. He has done really well. It's nice to have that stability.

We have a simple formula, the team is solid and built on defending. Basics, it's not rocket science. We are on a tough run but look at the teams we have played. There are no gimmes in the Premier League. We stick to what we are about, there is no panic or worry.

Pre-match in the press room is all about the meat & potato pie, the cheese & onion pie and a dollop of mushy peas served with pickled onions, red cabbage and beetroot. Nothing fancy, just simple and substantive for the visit of Manchester United.

West Ham v Bournemouth (15:00 GMT)

    Steve Bower
    Match of the Day commentator

This fixture will always have a small place in West Ham's history as the first Premier League match to be played at the London Stadium. It has been something of a rollercoaster ride for Hammers fans since Michail Antonio's goal won the match that day.

The recent stability though has offered genuine encouragement. Fifteen points from the last 24 under David Moyes has given them breathing space and belief with their added goal threat.

They will be confident of continuing that run and ruining Eddie Howe's 100th Premier League match in charge. He will hope Bournemouth's victory over Arsenal will have a galvanising effect, although they haven't won in their last nine visits to the capital.
