  1. Bye for nowpublished at 14:58 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2018

I posted this goal this morning but for people just joining us, here it is again.

It is the goal that won Cyrille Regis goal of the season in 1981-82 and it seems fitting to end with some footage of the great man in action.

Thanks for your company and contributions - we'll be back later on for coverage of Man United v Stoke.

We're wrapping things up here shortly but before we do, here are some more of your tributes to Cyrille Regis....

Socrates: One of my childhood heroes. Power, pace and great finishing ability.

Blackcountryandproud: I grew up watching the brilliant baggies side of the late seventies. I never understood why having three black players used to get so much press at the time. It's only when you look back do you appreciate how momentous that was in those times.Cyrille lit up the Hawthorns, and many other grounds, with his power and directness. I will never forget his goal vs. Norwich in the cup. RIP Big Man

Oh Danny boy: Can't pay him a better footballing tribute than to say I was glad when he retired...I don't support any of the clubs he played for so all he did was torment me and my club! Sleep well Big Man!

Cyrille Regis... I remember seeing play as a young West ham fan on our 1980 Cup run.... He scored near the end to level the game... He'd taken massive abuse from the West ham fans... Rip Cyrille.. Magnificent player..

As a Stoke fan I am gutted! The appointment of Lambert is them conceding life in the championship. What an awful decision.

Michael Devlin: United need to sign Jose to another three year deal so Giggsy is free to take over when he leaves.

  7. Giggs on friendlies and Osian Robertspublished at 14:34 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2018

    Michael Pearlman
    BBC Wales Sport

An interesting first press conference for Ryan Giggs, who certainly said all the right things as pertains to his enthusiasm for the job and honour in taking it, describing the appointment as "the proudest moment of my life".

However, his failure to address the lack of games he played for his country (especially friendlies) and to offer any assurances on the future of Chris Coleman's assistant, Osian Roberts, is unlikely to play well with his critics.

Mohammed Dola: As a 15 year old I did 2 weeks work experience at the Hawthorns, every morning he used to come and say hi to me tap me on the head with his newspaper and wished me a good day. Small things make a big and lasting impression Legend. #CyrilleRegis

  11. Ben Stokes charged with affraypublished at 14:16 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2018

England cricketer Ben Stokes has been charged with affray over an incident outside a Bristol nightclub.

The disturbance in September left a man with a fractured eye socket and police sent their findings to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) in November.

Stokes missed the Ashes series, with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) saying he would not be considered for England "until further notice".

The 26-year-old has been charged along with two other men. A statement from the CPS said it received further material in late December.

  13. Giggs media conference endspublished at 14:13 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2018

Ryan Giggs has now finished his media conference. He'll now do some interviews and we'll bring you the BBC's one, when we have it.

What did you make of what he had to say? Are you enthused, Wales fans?

  14. Postpublished at 14:12 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2018

More from Giggs: "The FAW have got a record of appointing people for who this is their first job or one of their first and they have followed that trend with me.

"I want to get the fans off their seats. I'm going to give it my all like I did when I played. It is probably the proudest moment of my life to lead my country."

  15. Postpublished at 14:12 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2018

More from Ryan Giggs: "I've got some ideas but nothing concrete at the moment (on his staff), that's something I need to work on over the next few days."

  16. Postpublished at 14:10 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2018

More from Giggs: "I'm not on social media so I haven't seen much of the criticism. I know the criticism is going to come but the way to combat that is to win games.

"The beauty of football is everyone has an opinion. It's about striking that balance. All I can do is work as hard as I can to produce a winning team."

  17. Postpublished at 14:09 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2018

New Wales manager Ryan Giggs: "I'll be the same manager as I was a player - professional and organised plus have a bit of fun along the way.

"I know [Wales coach] Osain Roberts, I know the passion he feels for Welsh football and we will be speaking in the near future."

  18. Postpublished at 14:07 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2018

Giggs on fan scepticism over him missing friendlies as a player and winning them over: "I'll do that by winning games, as long as I'm winning games those questions won't come up. It's up to me to give it my all, and also the players to make the country proud just like they were two years ago."

  19. Postpublished at 14:06 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2018

More from Giggs: "So many times it's been said that if you've had a good career as a player it doesn't mean you'll be a good manager but I think it's down to the person. I've got a great group of players to work with, who've been so successful over the last four or five years.

Will he seek advice from Sir Alex Ferguson? "I'd be so stupid not to, I've spoken to him over the last 24 hours but I also want to be my own manager. I'll take bits from mangers I've worked under but I'm my own person."

  20. Postpublished at 14:04 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2018

New Wales manager Ryan Giggs: "It came about when Cookie (Chris Coleman) left. I had the interview on Thursday and kept in dialogue over the weekend. It was an oppotunity I couldn't turn down. I was itching to get back into football. I'm tremendously honoured to be the next Wales manager."
