    Liverpool 2-3 West Brom

"When the Reds go marching in" is raring around the ground. And Liverpool are mounting another attack.

Jordan Henderson tries to find Firmino but it sails just over his head and out for a goal-kick. West Brom need to keep the ball now and settle things down. They can't keep soaking up this amount of pressure surely?

The crowd are pumped up now. Will Anfield witness another cup comeback?

They think a third goal is coming but Roberto Firmino is caught off-side.

  4. 'Very concerning for West Brom'published at 21:26 Greenwich Mean Time 27 January 2018

    Pat Nevin
Ex-Chelsea winger on BBC Radio 5 live at Anfield

Right - we've got a game on our hands - again! It just ricocheted well for Mo Salah, it's landed right at his left-boot, and he's caressed it into the back of the net.

This is a very concerning time for West Brom - do they sit back or take the game to Liverpool? Because Liverpool have done this before - we've seen them score a few late goals before.

  5. goal

GOAL - Liverpool 2-3 West Brompublished at 78 mins

    Mohamed Salah

Well, it has been coming. The ball bounces off Roberto Firmino and it's that man, Mo Salah, who pounces on it and slots it into the far corner.

He is the third-fastest Liverpool player in history to reach 25 goals in one season.

Mark Reed: Liverpool must have had some party after the Man City game.

Nathan: You know it’s bad when you bring Milner and Henderson on to pull a game back from the brink.

  7. Liverpool full-backs haven't done enoughpublished at 21:24 Greenwich Mean Time 27 January 2018

    Liverpool 1-3 West Brom

    Pat Nevin
Ex-Chelsea winger on BBC Radio 5 live at Anfield

When I've seen Liverpool play well this season, it's been when the wingers tuck in a little bit, and the full-backs hammer on - and that's been Andy Robertson and Joe Gomez most of the time. Today, Trent Alexander-Arnold hasn't had enough quality, and I haven't seen Alberto Moreno get forward once. That's where Liverpool have lacked options going forward.

    Liverpool 1-3 West Brom

Foster is called into action immediately afterwards as Danny Ings has another strike from the edge of the box.

It's an inventive save from Foster and it falls to Milner but he's off-side despite the goalkeeper producing a second, reaction save.

  9. CLOSE!published at 75 mins

    Liverpool 1-3 West Brom

This time Alexander-Arnold's cross does beat the first man and it falls to James Milner, who is left unmarked in the middle of the box.

He strikes it powerfully on the half-volley but it's well saved by Ben Foster. Close!

  10. 'Mignolet unconvincing'published at 21:20 Greenwich Mean Time 27 January 2018

    Liverpool 1-3 West Brom

    Pat Nevin
Ex-Chelsea winger on BBC Radio 5 live at Anfield

Simon Mignolet has not had an awful lot to do at all - but every time he's been called into action he's been very unconvincing.

  11. Postpublished at 73 mins

    Liverpool 1-3 West Brom

It's all Liverpool again but they are struggling to break down this well-organised West Brom defence.

Trent Alexander-Arnold's crosses are often failing to beat the first man and Salah has just chipped a ball over everyone and out for a goal-kick.

It's not been a great week for Jurgen Klopp's men...

James Clarke: It’s taken two months, but West Brom have finally exorcised the ghost of Tony Pulis. A proper, progressive, inventive performance.

Tom McCarron: You're 3-1 down and it's up to Danny Ings to save the day; congrats on the win West Brom.

  13. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 71 mins

    Liverpool 1-3 West Brom

Alan Pardew was forced into two early substitutions thanks to those injuries to Kieran Gibbs and Hal Robson Kanu but he makes his third one now.

Gareth Barry goes off and Claudio Yacob takes his place. He's performed well, the veteran midfielder.

  14. Postpublished at 70 mins

    Liverpool 1-3 West Brom

Jonny Evans concedes another foul as he comes in late on Roberto Firmino. Liverpool take it quickly but do nothing with it and the ball is back in the hands of Ben Foster...

  15. 'Messy defending from Liverpool'published at 21:15 Greenwich Mean Time 27 January 2018

    Liverpool 1-3 West Brom

    Pat Nevin
Ex-Chelsea winger on BBC Radio 5 live at Anfield

It's very messy at the back from Liverpool - there's no communication from Joel Matip and Simon Mignolet. It's a simple ball in from Matty Phillips and it's panic stations straight away.

  16. Postpublished at 67 mins

    Liverpool 1-3 West Brom

Matt Phillips is all on his own up front but he does so well!

He runs it into the corner, beats two players and almost earns a corner off Joel Matip but Liverpool just about recover it.

Then Liverpool counter-attack at the other end and there's a small penalty shout from Danny Ings as Ben Foster comes out to take the ball away from his feet.

Zaf: When will Liverpool learn to control games instead of having to chase them?

Andy: £75m doesn't fix a defence, organisation does. But Klopp does need the raw materials to work with. Now he needs time...

  18. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 65 mins

    Liverpool 1-3 West Brom

Jurgen Klopp is not happy. He is about to make three changes in one go.

James Milner, Jordan Henderson and Danny Ings are coming on.

Emre Can, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Sadio Mane are off.

  19. 'West Brom have been sharp'published at 21:09 Greenwich Mean Time 27 January 2018

    Liverpool 1-3 West Brom

    Pat Nevin
Ex-Chelsea winger on BBC Radio 5 live at Anfield

West Brom have played well to be fair to them, and they've played some pretty good football, too. They've been sharp.

And the clock is running down for Liverpool, they haven't created many chances in this second half.

Ash: For all the plaudits Trent Alexander-Arnold has fairly received this year, this game has been atrocious for him.

Simon: Matip, Moreno, Mignolet - the Bermuda triangle of defensive culpability.
