The floodlights are on at Huddersfield for a midday kick-off. We have had rain, sleet and sunshine so far but it looks like we are due another cold shower.

Meanwhile, we spotted a drone above the ground. It seems to have flown off now.

That beautiful, sunny day I mentioned earlier on seems to have ducked away - it looks perishing now. Several players are warming up in the dreaded snood.

In case you were wondering what this whole year of the dog chat is about, it's Chinese New Year next weekend so this is the closest home game to the date. Huddersfield are the Terriers, which is a dog.

Err, I think that's about it.

The team news reflects the sides’ recent form. Bournemouth unchanged after seven unbeaten, Huddersfield with numerous changes after eight matches without victory in the Premier League.

Quite right Michael. It's a great effort getting there but also you don't want to be a one-season wonder. Teams like Burnley, Stoke and Bournemouth show that it's possible to establish yourself.

Do the Terriers need to have a real go today? I get the feeling recent displays have been a bit submissive...

Michael Haimes: As a Huddersfield fan I have to keep reminding myself that we're already winning by being in the Premier League even for just one season. Competitive human instinct however, means I'm not willing to settle for that.

Apparently Huddersfield are wearing 'year of the dog' training gear as they warm up but I can't tell from here just what that means. They are not dressed as dogs, unfortunately.

Ah they have Chinese writing on the back of their jackets...

I got snowed on and hailed on making my way into the office this morning but it looks like an absolutely beautiful morning across the Pennines. Sun streaming in to the John Smith's Stadium at the moment.

The Terriers have lost their last two Premier League home games by a three-goal margin. Only three times in the competition’s history has a team lost three consecutive home games by at least three goals – Bradford in February 2001, Derby in May 2008 and Swansea in January 2017.

Huddersfield should take great encouragement from the achievements of Sunday's visitors.

Bournemouth have propelled themselves from the relegation zone to the top half of the table in just seven matches. In the longer term, it's also moved them a step closer to a fourth successive Premier League season.

By contrast, Huddersfield are in the midst of an alarming slide and have not picked up a single point in 2018. As a result, they find themselves in the bottom three for the first time this campaign.

Bournemouth are proof of how quickly things can change, yet, conversely, they are also not the ideal opponents when your confidence is brittle.
