Swansea City midfielder Ki Sung-yueng:

"I'm a little bit disappointed to lose but if you lose 4-1 you can’t say we did well. This is our first loss for six games so the next game is crucial. We will go away and analyse this.

"We conceded an easy goal in the fist half. The second goal kills the game. If you are losing the game you have to go forward.

"The next game against West Ham we have a big opportunity to take some points. With every game now until the end of the season we have to keep fighting to stay in the league."

Newcastle United

Newcastle manager Rafael Benitez: "It is always difficult when you have a team that is pushing at home but we had the chances to finish the game and didn't do it, we have to improve on that.

"We were I think in control of the game and had a clear idea of how to do things. They didn't have too many chances, I would say that the chance that we missed [Jonjo Shelvey from close range to make it 3-0] and then the goal they scored quickly after, that changed everything. After that, we lost control. We have lost two points."

Southampton

Southampton manager Mauricio Pellegrino:

On the performance: "At the end, the game was difficult, because Burnley don’t concede too many. The goal good gave us a good feeling, because there wasn’t too many chances. We competed at the start of second half but maybe they were stronger than us in some respects."

On Manolo Gabbiadini scoring: "Hopefully Manolo can recover his confidence, also he needed the opportunity to show he could score. But we have 10 games, and I need everyone to help the team."

On his side's equaliser: "I don’t think, there were many complaints about a foul by Manolo, more people were complaining about the block by the referee. But obviously the referee has no intention to do it."

On the result: "It’s one point, obviously we play another important game next, but the draw is almost the same as a win today."

Edward: (Burnley fan) Starting to question Sean Dyche's management. Another poor performance today can’t understand why no substitutions were made. Starting to get very fed up.

Burnley

Burnley manager Sean Dyche: "You can only control what you can control. The performance was good, certainly enough to win three points. It is another point on the table. We’re still finding ourselves, we've had a tough run. Today we did enough to win, the game was petering out to nothing.They huffed and puffed, but didn’t create too much.

"We should have had a penalty for the foul on Barnes, and he reacted will to get his goal. There was a handball outside the box by their keeper, then the goal of course. Apart from all those things, I’m pleased with everything."

On Southampton's controversial equaliser: "It’s irrelevant who I blame, because it is not going to change anything.

"We know what this division is about, if you lay your hand on anyone in the top half they go down."

West Bromwich Albion

West Brom boss Alan Pardew, speaking to Sky Sports about whether he expects to be given the time to see this season through: “I hope so. That isn’t my decision."

Asked if he feels he has done all he can to turn things around, he said:

"That’s never the case. You have to persist in your values and what you think is right. We will set our team up as strong as we can next week and try and win a game of football.”

On today's game, he added: “It was an ugly game for both teams. The ball was changing hands quite a lot. Huddersfield put us under good pressure and made it difficult for us.

“I thought, in terms of trying to apply ourselves and that ability to calm down in a moment we had some moments but not enough really. We never grasped the game and that was disappointing."

Huddersfield Town

Huddersfield boss David Wagner, on goalscorer Rajiv van la Parra: “He has shown today everything.

"In some situations you think 'come on friend what are you doing?' Then sometimes he is a genius. Sometimes he was unplayable but sometimes he made mistakes as well.

"It is great that he scored today, it is the one thing we have moaned about in the past – that he has not scored enough."

Huddersfield Town

Huddersfield boss David Wagner: "We said this before, it wasn’t a six-pointer but it was a massive game for us and the players showed everything – fighting spirit and attitude.

"It was a final for both teams, we won it and of course I am delighted and happy for the supporters, the players and staff.

“We expected they would be on the front foot. It was a massive game for them as well and a final. We overcame the first 10 minutes without us conceding a goal. After that it was open, we scored two wonderful goals and kept them as far as possible from our goal."

West Bromwich Albion

More from Alan Pardew, on the Baggies' run of just one win from 14 games: "I think it is three wins in 37 games. It is a problem, we just have to find a way to win a game, however it and however ugly it is. It was certainly ugly today."

Asked if he was anticipating any conversations about his future: "Not that I am aware of, no."

Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton manager Chris Hughton speaking to BBC MOTD:

"It is a really good peformance. The game opened up in the second half. They decided to change which made it a more open game. One side usually benefits when that happens and we benefited more.

"Offensively we’ve come on to a decent game for a side that didn’t look like scoring. That has to be on the back of a good defensive display and we were well worthy of the win. At the moment though we look as though we can score a goal."

On Jose Izquierdo:

"He’s coming on to a good game, He wants to work hard and work for the team. He’s settled in to our game and was used to scoring in the league he played in before he came here."

On Jurgen Locadia's impact:

"It’s about being in the right place at the right time. What stifled his progress was that he came injured. He hadn’t played for a couple of months but in that time it's allowed him to integrate to the team and the training.

"The reason we brought him in was to play and give us that competition in a vital area."

West Bromwich Albion

West Brom boss Alan Pardew: “I was disappointed with the performance. We worked hard this week and looked good going into the game but it wasn’t reflected in the game.

"Huddersfield knock you out of any rhythm with the way they play and it was a bitty game. We didn’t really have any passages of play. It was a messy game, which they are good at. They get into your face and with the confidence we have maybe it affected us a bit.

"We have two or three flair players missing but we should have had enough to beat Huddersfield really."

Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton forward Jurgen Locadia speaking to BBC MOTD:

"This is a special moment I've been dreaming about. I was always thinking of playing in Premier League. It's a crazy way to make a debut and special day

"We played well created a lot of opportunities to score, it was a shame we had a goal against us but did a good job today. José Izquierdo is a winger more than a fullback and I like the way we play, the system and the ideas of the trainer [Chris Hughton]. Everybody knows their job with and without the ball.

"I've had to adjust to the pace and do more power training than in Holland since I arrived. I hadn’t played since December so the last few games have been beautiful"

West Ham United

West Ham boss David Moyes: "We always thought we had a chance of scoring today but we couldn't keep their front players quiet. We have been very organised of late but we were disappointed today to lose the ball.

"We played some good stuff in the first half and with a bit more courage we could have gone in front. Ultimately we are playing against a team in real form.

"Every game will change the dynamics of how this league sits. We are in a good league position but not in terms of points."

West Ham United

West Ham boss David Moyes: "Liverpool played very well but we had moments as well. We were unfortunate not to go ahead but they are a threat.

"We were never going to get loads of chances here, we knew that, and the quality of the players they have caused us big problems.

"It's been really tight all season, as tight as I can remember it. We didn't put this one down for three points but we hoepd to take something from the game. Liverpool were tough.

"I thought Patrice Evra played really well, he showed his experience and you wouldn't expect anything else."

Huddersfield Town

Huddersfield boss David Wagner: "I think the best thing is that we have shown everything you have to show in these games; commitment, fighting spirit, togetherness.

"In some moments they showed decent football as well. It was a deserved result and we had the best opportunities. We got a little bit lucky in the first half when West Brom had a good opportunity at the end. But I am delighted and proud of the players. They have shown their momentum. It is a great win for us.

"I said to them that we weren't really satisfied with the first half. We made too many errors and looked nervous. We cannot wait for the whistle for fouls, we have to work and fight. They did that better in the second half."

So Swansea drop back into the red zone, West Brom remain seven points adrift.

Southampton

Southampton goalkeeper Alex McCarthy:

On the result: "Massive for us to get a point in a tough came away at Burnley. Looking back we’re happy to take that."

On their controversial goal: "I did see the referee block off a Burnley player. Usually nothing comes from it, but when a goal does, there’s always going to be that controversy around it, but we’ll take that. We haven’t had a lot of luck in recent weeks, so that is a bit of luck for us."

On the performance: "The boys did well, stuck in there. We knew it was going to be a tough game, with long balls flying in. I think when Josh Sims came on he brought a lot of energy, and we looked like scoring."
