Oof! We've seen some really nervy moments from David de Gea today - is it just the sun putting him off? So uncharacteristic here as he spills a pretty tame Willian effort on goal - more cross than shot. It almost dribbles over the line.

Anthony Martial has just made way for Jesse Lingard.

Martial and Paul Pogba had been responsible for most of United's attacking work down the left - as their combined touchmap shows.

And that is the side of the pitch where they have done most of their attacking.....

Eden Hazard is cleaned out by Antonio Valencia - yellow card.

Looking at that Lukaku effort again, it is just sublime football all round. What a save from Courtois, too.

That was one of the moves of the match. A terrific effort on goal from Romelu Lukaku and a save to match it from Thibaut Courtois.

Romelu Lukaku picks up from Paul Pogba and has the Frenchman tearing down his left looking for the return pass but he turns away and the chance is gone.

United recycle. Alexis Sanchez conjures a fine cross and Lukaku hits an acrobatic bicycle kick - a supreme effort - that Thibaut Courtois claws over the bar.

Nemanja Matic hauled down by Willian in a brief exchange of roles. So that gives Matic a few moments to try and dribble past everyone and hit the post, right?

United win a corner. Jesse Lingard whips in but again it's bad - doesn't beat the first man.

It’s just got a little bit weary on behalf of both teams. I think they are scared of committing too many people forward in fear of being caught on the counter attack.

Here comes Jesse Lingard. On he comes for Anthony Martial. Six games without a goal for the Frenchman, who hasn't made an impact today. He trots off slowly to the frustration of some fans. Can Lingard impress in his place?

Rezaa: Morata offers nothing to the Chelsea attackers. Giroud would be perfect to hold up the ball for Willian and Hazard to feed off him!

Femi: Chelsea should be leading this game if a proper striker was leading the line for them. Morata is simply lightweight.

Willian has been a heavily involved figure in this match - right across the pitch.

It's been a really low-key start to the second half, but I can't help feeling there's a really good game in here somewhere, just trying to get out. It's not for a want of trying, all the players on the field are trying to play the perfect pass, it's just not quite perfect enough so far.

Anthony Martial again can't summon anything from a chance to test the Chelsea defence. His cross hits Victor Moses on the chest in the box and there are claims it hit his hand.

You feel one moment - one summoned despite or because of the heightened tension that comes with a game like this - could set everything alight.
