Steve Howes: Romelu Lukaku's goal was ironically made by his poor first touch against Christensen.

Paul: Feed Red Rom and he will score!

I don't think Antonio Conte can quite believe his team are no longer leading.

For the first time this afternoon he is starting to throw his arms around in frustration, most recently because Eden Hazard and Willian did not have a shot between them as Chelsea counteredin response to that equaliser.

Alexis Sanchez has just been to the touchline to change his boots.

Eden Hazard is taken out - or well, there is a slight touch from Nemanja Matic that sends him to the ground.

Willian is standing over this Chelsea free-kick. One minute plus stoppages to go.

A dummy run-up and a flick into space where Alvaro Morata can't quite connect. Another clever rehearsed routine that doesn't quite come off.

It was a well-taken goal. For once Manchester United got three or four players in area, previously it had been two max.

Ash: United three high profile transfers, Pogba,Lukaku,Sanchez. What have any of them done in this game? Nothing

Anon: Shocking defending from Man Utd. Players like Lukaku, Pogba and Sanchez aren’t playing as well as they can do. Mourinho has got them playing like a league 1 side

  7. CLOSE!published at 41 mins

    Man Utd 1-1 Chelsea

Immediate danger for United as Eden Hazard is found in the area following a quick free-kick - not sure the home side were ready for that. Hazard is blocked off but the ball falls to Marcos Alonso and his effort spins just over the top corner.

It's a goal that takes a little bit of pressure off Romelu Lukaku's broad shoulders - he can score in the biggest of games! He had to contend with significant pressure from Marcos Alonso, but it is a very neat finish.

    Romelu Lukaku

Romelu Lukaku takes the chance when it matters! It's a lovely goal.

First of all Lukaku battles brilliantly to keep possession, then there is a quick three or four passes to take out the Chelsea bodies blocking the path to goal. Anthony Martial takes it in and lays off to Lukaku running into the box and the big man plants the ball home. Composure 20. What's that about struggling in the big moments?

The form Willian's been in - he'd expect to score that. The form David De Gea's been in - he'd expect to save it - it was just hit too hard.

    Man Utd 0-1 Chelsea

Romelu Lukaku spins into a Blue shirt again as he looks to hold up with his back to goal. Alvaro Morata has no doubt been the more impressive striker on show here so far.

Nemanja Matic gives it away to Morata on the halfway line but he doesn't get any joy from a drive down the line.

Terrible from Matic. Hit it straight to the Spaniard.

Lightning counter attack from Chelsea but I wonder how Jose Mourinho will view Paul Pogba's part in that goal.

Pogba should have been jumping to challenge Victor Moses for a bouncing ball on the edge of the area.

Instead, he waited for it to come down, allowing Moses to get above him, win the ball and knock the Frenchman over.

Pogba was scrambling for his boot as Chelsea pressed forward and had no chance to recover before Willian scored.

Stephen: As good as Willian has been all game, David De Gea should be doing better there.

BP: Thank god Willian just scored. It will finally force United to stop playing like an away side in the Champions League

    Man Utd 0-1 Chelsea

They are just quicker to the loose balls and more imaginative in finding space to connect, Chelsea. It's a trend that you'd only expect to grow now they are 1-0 up. Marcos Alonso pops up on the edge of the area and is again given far too much time by the United defence before a shot is eventually diverted to safety.

Hazard plays Willian through and he had a look at De Gea, looks at the defender and just lashed it behind him.

All day long he would have expected to save that, arguably the best in the world. He didn’t expect Willian to put it where he put it. But even as a goalkeeper, expect the unexpected

Ash Williams: United had six players behind the ball and they get cut open by one pass.

Dubsguy: Just the start United needed yet again... Jose's negative tactics getting exactly what they deserve. Maybe we'll start playing properly now?

    Willian

Chaos at the back as Chelsea counter quickly from United's free-kick and Eden Hazard totally bamboozles the home defence, spinning a through ball forward for Willian to chase.

Confusion as to who should be tracking him - there is nobody there and the Brazilian has so much space as he drives towards goal. Willian takes a peek at David de Gea and smashes a drive beyond the keeper.

You have to say, Chelsea deserve it.

  19. YELLOW CARDpublished at 31 mins

Very smooth work from Paul Pogba, sending N'Golo Kante for his dejeuner with a few stepovers. Kante tracks back and hauls his fellow France international down. That is a yellow card no matter what language you speak.

Herbert Karima: I can't believe what I'm seeing. Jose has got United playing like a league one side away at City in a cup tie. So disgusting considering the quality of our players.
