    Not what Garry Monk wanted...

A Boro cross into the box falls to Patrick Bamford, who has the simple task of prodding in at the back post.

It's his seventh goal in less than three-and-a-half games and Monk's side trail to his former employers.

    Goals flying in everywhere now.

Derby take the lead at Loftus Road through Andreas Weimann, but it's Kasey Palmer who makes it.

The midfielder weaves his way into the box before nicking it through to Weimann who finishes smartly into the corner.

  4. GREAT SAVE!published at 20:25 Greenwich Mean Time 6 March 2018

    Fulham 1-0 Sheff Utd

The Blades have picked themselves up from that setback and almost level with a lovely curling strike from John Fleck.

The Scot bends one from just outside the box and Marcus Bettinelli gets a strong hand to push it away for a corner - cracking save.

    Cardiff City 1-0 Barnsley

    Dafydd Pritchard
BBC Sport Wales at Cardiff City Stadium

News of that flurry of goals around the Championship has filtered through to a few of the Cardiff fans but, rather than worrying about Fulham and Aston Villa, the more optimistic of the regulars here believe their team can catch leaders Wolves, who are just three points in front of Neil Warnock's side as things stand.

  6. goal

GOAL: Hull 0-2 Millwallpublished at 20:20 Greenwich Mean Time 6 March 2018

    Jake Cooper (33 mins)

The definition of a looping, towering header from Jake Cooper.

It comes from a corner and Millwall are well on course for a fifth consecutive away win, with their hosts only two points above the drop zone as things stand.

  7. goal

GOAL: Sunderland 0-1 Aston Villapublished at 20:20 Greenwich Mean Time 6 March 2018

    Lewis Grabban (34 mins)

Lewis Grabban returns to haunt Sunderland!

It's disastrous defending by the Black Cats. Albert Adomah whips in a cross, the hosts let it bounce in the box and Grabban heads in at the back post.

  8. goal

GOAL: Fulham 1-0 Sheff Utdpublished at 20:18 Greenwich Mean Time 6 March 2018

    Aleksandar Mitrovic (31 mins)

    Can anyone stop the Cottagers?!

The visitors had a bright start but have been on the back foot for some time - Ryan Fredericks gets to the byline and puts in a low cross for Aleksandar Mitrovic to gobble up.

The on-loan Newcastle striker gets his fourth goal in four games - I bet Rafa wishes he held onto the Serbian!

    Birmingham 0-0 Middlesbrough

Harlee Dean has already been in the thick of it defensively and now he's denied at the other end for the hosts.

From a free-kick the centre-back is all set to have a point-blank header at goal but is thwarted by a great piece of Boro defending - Tony Pulis will be proud.

    Callum Paterson (31 mins)

The Bluebirds hit the front. Junior Hoilett does well down the left flank, crossing for Kenneth Zohore, who makes a meal of it, but is lucky to see his attempt drop for a team mate.

Callum Paterson gets into the box and tucks away his sixth goal of the season.

    Cardiff 0-0 Barnsley

As soon as Dafydd posts, Barnsley go close to taking the lead.

Gary Gardner gets his header all wrong, guiding it wide from inside the six yard box from Brad Potts' pin-point cross.

    Fulham 0-0 Sheff Utd

Stefan Johansen v Jamal Blackman - who wins?

First Fulham forward Johansen sees his shot spilled by the United stopper and a minute later Blackman collects another effort from the Norwegian, which is deflected on its way through.

The Cottagers have won their last eight at home so it's no surprise to see them turning the screw.

  13. 'Bluebirds started positively'published at 20:10 Greenwich Mean Time 6 March 2018

    Cardiff City 0-0 Barnsley

    Dafydd Pritchard
BBC Sport Wales at Cardiff City Stadium

It wasn't long ago that Wolves seemed to be riding off into the sunset, destined to win the Championship at a canter.

They may well still be crowned champions by some distance but a victory tonight would move Cardiff within three points of the league leaders.

The Bluebirds have started positively against Barnsley, with Kenneth Zohore creating two decent chances for the returning Craig Bryson and Kadeem Harris - starting for the first time since December and since last season respectively.

  14. goal

GOAL: Preston 1-0 Bristol Citypublished at 20:09 Greenwich Mean Time 6 March 2018

    Alan Browne (20 mins)

What a finish from Alan Browne!

It's terrible defending from Bristol City, with Hordur Magnusson failing to clear the ball. It comes to Browne, who dinks a lovely chip over the retreating Frank Fielding, who is out of position having come off his line.

    Preston 0-0 Bristol City

Bristol City are fighting to get back into the game after a dominant start by Preston.

    Birmingham 0-0 Middlesbrough

Remember that piledriver of a long shot Craig Gardner always had? Well he still has it.

The veteran Birmingham midfielder tries his luck from 25 yards and stings the hands of keeper Darren Randolph.

Jota then shoots into the side-netting. Better from the hosts.

Another chance for Cardiff City, who are looking to reduce Wolves' lead at the top of the Championship to three points.

    Cardiff 0-0 Barnsley

Marko Grujic and Gary Gardner go into the referee's notebook for fouls before Cardiff nearly take the lead.

The ball drops for Craig Bryson, but his shot through a crowd of legs is well saved by Nick Townsend, with the rebound scrambled clear.

  20. Postpublished at 20:02 Greenwich Mean Time 6 March 2018

    Sunderland 0-0 Aston Villa

Scott Hogan has to do better there.

Conor Hourihane releases the Villa striker with a beautiful ball over the top, but Hogan skews his shot horribly off target.

    Still goalless.
