If you are a neutral you have to admit that so far the football on offer has been very pleasing on the eye.

Both sides are eager to get the ball down and pass and both have players capable of beating a man and creating that little bit of magic - Matt Doherty and Ivan Cavaleiro for Wolves, and Albert Adomah and Jack Grealish for Villa.

An excellent mazy run down the right from Ivan Cavaleiro, but the Wolves man possibly picks the wrong option with his pass and Villa are able to clear.

But Nuno Espirito Santo's side keep pressing and pressing here at Villa Park.

Well we really do have the makings of a classic here, it is a game rapidly becoming the sort of end-to-end encounter you hope to see between two local rivals.

    Diogo Jota

Diogo Jota scrambles the ball home from three yards and Wolves are level!

It comes from an excellent run down the right from Matt Doherty, who puts in the most teasing ball into the 'corridor of uncertainty'.

It certainly caused uncertainty in the Villa defence and Jota beats Sam Johnstone and James Chester to the ball to force it home.

    Aston Villa 1-0 Wolves

Aston Villa have failed to win just two games this season once they have scored the first goal.

But Wolves are doing their best to change that statistic, they've been the better side since going behind to that early Albert Adomah goal.

Nobody attacked the ball and they watched Villa walk it in. Very disappointing from a Wolves point of view.

    Albert Adomah

The scrappiest of goals, but Villa fans won't care as they take an early lead.

The first corner of the day goes to the back post Mile Jedinak heads it back in, there's a scuffed clearance by a Wolves defender, pinball on the line and Albert Adomah puts it away from close range.

Jack Grealish has a bit of a shoving match with Alfred N'Diaye.

While you have to admire Grealish's ambition, it would be like Naseem Hamed trying to fight Frank Bruno in boxing terms!
