    Cardiff 2-1 Burton

A chance within a minute of kick-off for Cardiff.

Kenneth Zohore decides to look for a pass when he had a great sight of goal after being put through by Callum Paterson and the ball is cleared.

It was a great saving interception by Tom Flanagan. But the wrong selection surely?

We are getting back under way across the EFL all over the country.

Forty-five crucial minutes await as the promotion and relegation issues become clearer and clearer.

    Or more complicated for some.

But definitely closer to being decided.

    League One update

And right at the end of first-half injury time, struggling Rochdale get a leveller against promotion-chasing Shrewsbury.

Oliver Rathbone advanced forward from halfway without a challenge and struck a low shot into the back of the net in the 12th minute of added time to make it 1-1.

That goal has implications at both ends as if it remains like this, Shrewsbury will stay third and Dale will be six points from safety.

    Well. It's been competitive.

That's about all we can say from the game at Carrow Road. Very little in terms of chances, but both teams will be happy enough with the scoreline.

    League Two update

Three goals to report in League Two just before the break

The first is a big one, as Danny Pugh put 21st-placed Port Vale ahead at home to 23rd-placed Chesterfield.

However, the midfielder then got a straight red card for a poor challenge a minute later.

Newport lead at home to Coventry and Morecambe have taken the lead at Swindon after Callum Lang beat the offside trap and slotted home.

    Cardiff 2-1 Burton

Burton have a chance to level with their own injury-time goal, but Jamie Allen's finish is not convincing, allowing Neil Etheridge to make a decent save.

Burton have been excellent for long patches, but some more than dubious defending has cost them dear and Cardiff are on course for victory.

Lloyd Dyer shows that Burton are still a threat despite a difficult few minutes.

He's been excellent for the Brewers so far but cannot keep his shot down.

    Brentford 0-0 Sheffield United

Sheffield United are pressing for an opening goal at a wet Griffin Park, but Billy Sharp somehow doesn't turn in an inviting left-wing cross and Brentford survive.

    Cardiff 1-1 Burton

Kenneth Zohore's free-kick is deflected wide. Cardiff are getting a grip on the game now.

Soon after, Sean Morrison is denied by some smart goalkeeping by Stephen Bywater, who positions himself expertly to stop the volley.

Home manager Neil Warnock has been typically animated on the sidelines throughout.

This is a game he will see as a must-win given Burton's league struggles.

stevedwhittle: Just give Neil Harris a contract for life. What he has done this season beggars belief.

Millwall beat Nottingham Forest 2-0 earlier today to keep their play-off challenge going, and results in the 15:00 BST games are going their way at the moment. None of their closest rivals are winning.

  16. Postpublished at 15:36 British Summer Time 30 March 2018

    Norwich 0-0 Fulham

Just over 30 minutes gone at Carrow Road. And still just the one shot on target.

That came from Fulham's Tom Cairney early on and was easily dealt with.

Fulham are dominating possession but goalmouth incident has been rarer than rare.

League One & League Two update

It's got worse for League Two title challengers Luton Town, who are now 2-0 down at Colchester as Luke Prosser grabs a second goal for the U's.

As it stands Accrington, who are drawing 0-0 at Mansfield, will replace the Hatters at the top of the table.

In League One, Shrewsbury defender Toto Nsiala has been stretchered off in a neck brace. Play is back under way after about a 12-minute stoppage in play.

And Plymouth have doubled their lead over Southend, after Graham Carey's deflected shot from outside the box looped over Shrimpers keeper Mark Oxley.

  18. CLOSE!published at 15:33 British Summer Time 30 March 2018

    Cardiff 1-1 Burton

    Cardiff should be ahead.

Burton's Stephen Bywater comes flying out of his goal into the left-back area.

He is never going to get there and Nathaniel Mendez-Laing works the ball to Craig Bryson, who somehow cannot find the finish.

A great chance for the Bluebirds. A goal seemed certain for the Scotland midfielder.
