At 3-0 down, Wenger doesn’t make a single substitution. What does that say about what he thinks of the squad he has at his disposal? Message to the board perhaps?

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola told BBC Sport: "Mentally we were strong. We were clinical. We scored three outstanding goals. After that it was not easy - the first 15 minutes of the second half we were poor. Still, it's an amazing result for us.

"We are out of the FA Cup and we won the League Cup. Now it's just two competitions and you fight for one of them for 10 months. These are the last steps to be champions, you keep going until the end.

"We have to win five games. We don't think too much. Now we play Chelsea. Hopefully we have the desire to win, to be the best team in England. We forget that we are tired."

Like every great leader, you find the right time to leave the club. That moment has gone since, long ago. Now he’s trying to get a performance from players who are looking over their shoulder at who’s coming in next. Who can Arsene turn to in that changing room now? But he’s put himself in that position, there’s no players for him after getting rid of people like Giroud.

John: Well Man City just just went through the motions the 2nd half and could have stepped it up anytime they wanted too. Are we all just thinking Arsenal are still a big team cause of the early 2000's? I was shocked to find out tonight he has only won title 3 times.

Is it a defining night for Arsene Wenger? Last season they went out of the Champions League versus Bayern Munich, it was 10-2 over the two ties. The owner has supported Arsene Wenger but it gets ever closer to a change being made. I’m not looking forward to the Brighton game. If they lose that as well it really tests the club. He may even ask the club ‘do you want to keep me here’ because it’s turned that sour.

Manchester City forward Bernardo Silva: "It was a great game for us, especially the first half. We were focused. We're very happy to stay 16 points ahead of Manchester United.

"My goal was great play from Leroy Sane. I had space on my left foot. I cut in and shot. It was a good goal I'm happy with that.

"We want to win the league as fast as we can."

There is a scenario developing where City could seal the title by winning at home to Manchester United on 7 April. Can you imagine that?

You can talk about City, they've been outstanding all season, they get better and better, and they've been too good for Arsenal in every department.

It's been a sad evening for Arsene Wenger and I don't think I've seen it this bad for Arsenal since maybe Terry Neill left in the 1980s.

I don't think he'll walk, but this will test his resolve. They've got a big game at the weekend now and then AC Milan. But big questions are being asked now, it these players are giving their all for Arsene Wenger.

Manchester City's 16-point lead at the top of the Premier League is restored. They are 30 (thirty) points ahead of Arsenal, who are 10 points off the top four. Points-wise, they are closer to bottom club West Brom than they are to the league leaders.

Jesus has come on. They used to say it was like watching Brazil at Arsenal. I'm not sure what it's like watching now. It's been a very tepid and sad evening for Arsene Wenger.

Now the press conference almost becomes more important than the actual game for Arsene. He felt there was an over-reaction after the final. He hoped there'd be a response but they've been totally outplayed.
