    Brighton 3-1 Coventry

There is more great work from Jonson Clarke-Harris, sending a cross/shot across goal that just squeezes away from the keeper but then back into his hands.

He's had a really good game, the Coventry striker.

Sam Baldock hits the bar! Lovely move from Brighton, quickening the pace in the vital areas to fashion another chance late on. Four would be cruel...

    We are into stoppage time...

At 2-0 Coventry probably thought well we've got nothing to lose now.

Fortune favours the brave in this game.

You have to wonder why Coventry were not so brave early on.

    Brighton 3-1 Coventry

Everyone behind the ball now for Brighton, defending this two-goal cushion.

Coventry launch it, Jonson Clarke-Harris battling hard, as he's done all afternoon. Too hard here is sub Jordan Ponticelli, the ref pulls play back for a foul in the Brighton box.

    TWO plus stoppages to play.

  6. 'Far more drive'published at 17:00 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2018

    Brighton 3-1 Coventry

    David Pleat

Coventry have shown far more drive in the last 20 minutes than they did in a slightly passive first half.

The Sky Blues have done themselves proud.

    Brighton 3-1 Coventry

Nice again from Ryan Haynes, one trick takes him past his man but another is one too many as he runs out of control in the box. His sliding tackle in search of redemption is too strong and Brighton have a free-kick in their own area.

    FOUR to go.

  8. Postpublished at 16:58 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2018

    Brighton 3-1 Coventry

Ryan Haynes' low cross is just out of reach of Jonson Clarke-Harris, the striker's touch sends it away from danger and Coventry have to build again.

There's a nice mazy run from Tom Bayliss - he's looked very bright, the 18-year-old, but Brighton hold firm again. They are sitting right back now, the home side.

One more would make it interesting...

    Just over FIVE to go.

The second half was a really good cup tie compared to the first half.

There as more quality in the second half, with West Brom trying to press and Southampton playing on the counter-attack.

I think the boos from West Brom fans at the end were more down to frustration rather than disappointment at the result.

We are into the last 10 minutes in the delayed kick-off at Brighton. Two more goals for the League Two side would force a replay they've not looked like reaching so far, but you never know...

Lee Burge sends a quick throw up the park. The travelling support - big numbers - right behind their side.

A bad week for West Brom ends on a low note.

The one positive is the fans did not turn on their team.

But a side that struggles to create chances is unlikely to win games.

And that is what West Brom are.

    Jonson Clarke-Harris

Is this just a glimpse of hope or the start of something big? I mean it would have to be really big but it's a tidy finish from Jonson Clarke-Harris, low into the corner from inside the box.

    They couldn't, could they?

Those situations are really frustrating for a manager.

There's an opportunity to put a ball into the box and then your centre-half goes and fires it way over the bar.

Ben Foster launches. Southampton clear with two headers then there's a handball. Chris Brunt sends a deep free-kick into the box, hacked away by the retreated Southampton XI.

Ahmed Hugazi picks up the ball, 30 yards from goal, there's no pressure on him so he decides to shoot. Wayward. Over the bar and off into oblivion.

    FOUR minutes added on.
