If you've lost a game, you want to get back to the next game as quickly as possible.

It is a blessing in disguise that this game has come now - they are not playing for three points.

There is no expectation on either team.

The success for Brighton is coming because they are using the width more effectively than Coventry City.

  4. Postpublished at 15:35 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2018

    Brighton 1-0 Coventry

Brighton going for the knockout blow. Here they come again as Solly March drives into the box, there's a challenge from Liam Kelly and March goes down. Some shout for a penalty, but the ref says no. March himself didn't look too convinced...

  5. goal

GOAL - Brighton 1-0 Coventrypublished at 15:31 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2018

    Jurgen Locadia (15 mins)

When it does come, it's a simple finish amid defending that could really have been tighter. Anthony Konckaert earns the space to cross, low and across the daisies to find Jurgen Locadia in space.

And that is what a club record £15m from PSV gets you. A lovely first-time finish past a stranded Lee Burge in the Coventry goal.

  6. YELLOW CARDpublished at 15:31 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2018

    West Brom 0-1 Southampton

Salomon Rondon collects a Ben Foster boom up the pitch and turns. A bit of desire. The ball is worked across the pitch and Grzegorz Krychowiak loses out in a one-on-one.

Krychowiak involved again here with a late challenge on Mario Lemina - yellow card. Fair to have expected more from Krychowiak in terms of impact?

  7. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 15:30 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2018

    Brighton 0-0 Coventry

Corner ball. Swung in by Jordan Shipley. Jonson Clarke-Harris rises well - in space - and nods against the frame of the goal! Crossbar and out! Tim Krul was beaten.

Three corners already for Brighton, all delivered accurately by Suttner.

All of the corners suggest Coventry are going to have some difficulty from set pieces.

    Brighton 0-0 Coventry

They could easily be one down already but they're not letting that take the wind out of their sails. Coventry fly forward again down the right wing through full-back Jack Grimmer - the hero against Stoke in the third round - but this time the cross is too long.

However, the League Two side are yet to touch the ball in Brighton's box.

Callum in Kent: Saints' defenders continue to show the strikers how it's done. Terrible defending aside, can we give Hoedt a bit of credit for that finish? A centre back catching a ball full on the volley and burying it into the bottom corner doesn't happen very often!

Aidan: Alan Pardew is a poor manager, only fans of the club's he hasn't managed say he isn't

When Southampton click it's really smooth, nice to watch. Cedric Soares is beginning to have fun out on the right flank, with Dusan Tadic, Nathan Redmond also looking dangerous - and very comfortable on the ball.

    A big let off there.

An early goal could have dispirited Coventry City.

OOF! That is so close from James McClean, he drives towards goal and flashes a powerful shot - swerving - just wide of the post. Alex McCarthy looked beaten.

  15. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 15:22 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2018

    Brighton 0-0 Coventry

First proper bit of Brighton pressure with a succession of corners.

Connor Goldson can't quite connect with the first, but the second falls to Jurgen Locadia, and the club record signing smashes against the post on the turn, from about five yards out.

Brighton boss Chris Hughton will know the importance of this game and how this can be a banana skin.

Coventry would certainly like to get the Seagulls back to the Ricoh to play on their difficult pitch.

I think Brighton will win today despite the fact they have made a few changes.

    West Brom 0-1 Southampton

    Simon Stone

Just what the home side didn’t need.

The Hawthorns, which had been making plenty of noise, was stunned by Wesley Hoedt’s opener.

They are behind their team again now but West Brom really need to give their fans something to cheers.

Jonny Evans didn’t escape without punishment for his midweek escapade. He has lost the captaincy today.
