    Brighton 2-0 Coventry

    David Pleat
Former Tottenham manager on BBC Radio 5 live

If someone asked me are Coventry a direct side or do they play through the middle, I honestly could not say.

They simply do not have the speed or the guile to trouble Brighton.

Ah. Jordan Shipley's dink dribbles out of play via a loose touch off Jack Grimmer. Surely a chance to shoot from there. Test the keeper.

    Brighton 2-0 Coventry

No team from the fourth tier has never knocked out two top-flight sides in the same FA Cup campaign and it doesn't look like that will change today.

Coventry have had their moments, but Brighton are the deserved leaders. It would be some comeback from here.

Jonson Clarke-Harris wins a free-kick on the edge of the box. Well, it has to start somewhere...

    HT: West Brom 0-1 Southampton

    Michael Appleton
Leicester City assistant manager on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

Maybe it wasn't deliberate from Carrillo. The referee must have seen it as he booked him but didn't send him off.

It's been a scrappy game. West Brom have had the better of the territory but Pardew will be disappointed by the way they conceded the goal.

    Southampton have done well.

Always danger of a Brighton third though.. And Anthony Knockaert meets a Leo Ulloa pass before smashing a drive just over the bar.

  7. CLOSE!published at 15:55 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2018

    Brighton 2-0 Coventry

Tom Bayliss is sparkling down the wing and here is another fine young prospect showing what he can do despite his side's troubles... Josh Barrett, on loan from Reading, picks up the ball on the edge, turns and spins a shot just wide of the post.

  8. Baggies better with Megson?published at 15:53 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2018

    HT: West Brom 0-1 Southampton

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport at The Hawthorns

The records of Tony Pulis and Alan Pardew as West Brom manager this season are remarkably similar.

Pulis got three wins, four draws and seven defeats in all competitions before he was sacked in November.

Pardew has three wins, five draws and eight defeats.

Arguably interim boss Gary Megson did better than both, drawing at Tottenham and then at home to Newcastle before stepping aside for Pardew.

A really warm reaction from the Brighton fans to that goal - because it is the first Connor Goldson has scored since his time out of the game following heart surgery.

Coventry can't really afford to lose the second goal because then the technical superiority of Brighton will start to show.

Terrific break, Suttner that time and once again it's from the wide position that Brighton are having all the joy.

  13. CHANCE!published at 15:49 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2018

    Brighton 1-0 Coventry

Jurgen Locadia in the thick of it again! It's another good deliver from Markus Suttner, but Locadia is stretching and can't quite connect.

They are well on top here, Brighton.

  14. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:48 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2018

    West Brom 0-1 Southampton

The ref blows for half-time but the players are more interested in sorting out this dispute between Ahmed Hegazi and Guido Carrillo.

The Southampton man is booked for a foul in an aerial challenge with the Egyptian.

    Brighton 1-0 Coventry

Tim Krul is down and seemingly in a lot of pain after a collision with Jonson Clarke-Harris. They were both looking to connect with a dinked free-kick - Krul to clear - and came together.

Krul is up now after treatment and stretching out. He should be OK. Ref gave a free-kick to the home side.

I think they must stop Stephens in particular because he is so dangerous when he gets the ball.

  17. No malicepublished at 15:44 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2018

    West Brom 0-1 Southampton

    Michael Appleton
Leicester City assistant manager on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

It was clearly a foul but there was nothing in it from McClean.

There was no malice and I'm surprised the referee even stopped the game as Southampton were in a good position.

  18. CHANCE!published at 15:43 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2018

    West Brom 0-1 Southampton

Southampton are ending this half the stronger. Mario Lemina connects with a cut-back on the edge of the box, it takes a deflection, for a second the voices rise as it looks to be heading in, but Ben Foster adjusts smartly to collect.

James McClean gives the referee a volley of candid opinion as he collects a yellow card after a late foul on Guido Carrillo.

  19. CHANCE!published at 15:41 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2018

    Brighton 1-0 Coventry

Should be two! Jurgen Locadia's composure, shooting and concentration all abandon him in unison as he air-swipes at this cut-back from the left. The goal was gaping.

  20. CHANCE!published at 15:40 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2018

    West Brom 0-1 Southampton

Just over FIVE minutes to go before the break at the Hawthorns. The home fans trying to lift their side.

Ahmed Hugazi badly misdirects a header in space from a corner.

Southampton break, and Jonny Evans has to sweep in and clear from Dusan Tadic in the box.
