There goes the whistle and it's all square at the break. This is still very much anyone's game at the moment!

There's generally no diving, when players go down it's because they are genuinely hurt.

I think a lot of people say that's the refreshing thing about women's football.

Lena Goessling is down after a clash with Toni Duggan and that looks a nasty one! Duggan is going for the ball but looks to make more contact with Goessling's leg.

Thankfully, Germany's number eight looks to be ok though and she's back on her feet.

We're approaching half-time and England will be happy to go into the break level after their slow start.

They've had the upper hand over Germany in the latter stages of this half and they'll need to come back out with the same tempo.

From the resulting corner, Millie Bright heads the ball down and it finds Mel Lawley.

Germany manage to scramble the ball away though. This is a good spell from England.

England get a free-kick after Ellen White was fouled just outside the area.

Fara Williams steps up and goes oh so close! It zips in and goes straight through the defence, but Schult gets a hand to it just before it sneaks into the bottom corner. I don't think the German stopper saw that until late so a great save!

  10. 'Lawley has the beating of her opponent'published at 35 mins

Former England forward on BBC Red Button

I've been really impressed with Melissa Lawley and her delivery into the box. She doesn't take too many touches and just gets the ball in. She has the beating of her opponent.

  11. Stokes shootspublished at 34 mins

Mel Lawley has the ball wide on the right and she finally gets a ball in. It's received by a defender but Ellen White soon regains possession and gets it back to Lawley.

She sends a cross flying into the box and it's headed out to Demi Stokes, who blasts it high and wide over the bar.

    Better from England!

I've seen a few pictures on social media with David Beckham and the England squad when he popped in to see them earlier and that's really nice. We saw Jodie Taylor getting a picture with him and that's what Phil Neville will bring.

  13. Postpublished at 29 mins

    Germany women 1-1 England women

Opportunity for Germany as Alexandra Popp whips in a cross from just inside the box and it's begging for a header!

It's just too high for Svenja Huth though. A good chance.

Jill Scott is down and looks a bit dazed. She's smiling though and she's soon back on her feet.

The camera pans to David Beckham who is sat next to Casey Stoney in the stands. Great to see him getting so involved.

  15. 'It's unlucky for Duggan'published at 20:26 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March 2018

    Germany women 1-1 England women

    Sue Smith
Former England forward on BBC Red Button

Toni Duggan just tried to curl it into the far corner but couldn't get enough whip on it. It's unlucky as far as she is concerned.

  16. Close!published at 24 mins

    Germany women 1-1 England women

Big chance for England to take the lead there! Lucy Bronze finds Fran Kirby in the box who feeds it in to Toni Duggan, and the Barcelona forward looks to curl the ball around Almuth Schult in the German goal.

She doesn't put enough power on it though and it rolls past the post.

Well that was an exciting couple of minutes wasn't it! Just about getting my breath back...

England are back on level terms but they look a little shaky at the back.

  18. 'What a reaction from England'published at 21 mins

    Sue Smith
Former England forward on BBC Red Button

What a reaction from England that is. That's exactly what you want from your team when you go a goal behind.

We know Fara Williams can strike them from the edge of the box and Ellen White always just seems to be in the right place at the right time.

  19. goal

GOAL - Germany 1-1 Englandpublished at 18 mins

    Ellen White

What a response! Just like that, England equalise less than a minute later.

Mel Lawley whips the ball in from the right and the ball is headed out. But it only reaches Fara Williams who unleashes a shot first time and it deflects in off Ellen White!

    Game. On.

  20. goal

GOAL - Germany 1-0 Englandpublished at 17 mins

    Hasret Kayikci

Kayikci breaks the deadlock and Germany take a deserved lead.

England can't clear and Demi Stokes looks to deflect it onto Kayicki's boot and in.
