If it wasn't for the injury, Adam Lallana would be one of the first names on the team sheet, a top player, brings goals and assists. All he needs now is a run of games. If he gets that, someone like that should be on the plane.

Chelsea's Davide Zappacosta has a lot of space on the right but his cross is way to high and flies over Ciro Immobile, who was left on his own at the back post.

Raheem Sterling does well to win the ball in the corner and he waited before playing in Ashley Young.

The Manchester United full-back darts into the box, beats a player and tries to pull it back for Jamie Vardy but it's too close to the keeper.

Excellent combination between those two down the left once again.

Game on in Madrid as Manchester City defender Nicolas Otamendi heads past United keeper David de Gea to pull one back for Argentina. But Spain still lead 2-1.

Lorenzo Insigne is set on his way by Ciro Immobile but Kyle Walker's pace is blistering and not only does he beat the Italian to the ball, but he uses his strength to nudge him out of the way and win a throw-in. Cool as you like.

Kyle Walker plays a lovely diagonal ball across field towards Ashley Young. That was Scholes-esque. Well, almost!

Brazil almost make it 2-0 against Germany, but Paulinho is denied by a good save from Kevin Trapp, who had been expected to be replaced at half-time.

Perhaps given an extra chance to make amends for his error for the goal?

Kyle Walker's pass to Kieran Trippier is intercepted and Ciro Immobile sets off on a run through the middle but the pass into him from Lorenzo Insigne is just slightly too long.
