    Stoke 0-2 Man City

Ramadan Sobhi gets a few minutes of shadow boxing for Stoke, replacing Geoff Cameron. Paul Lambert will probably reflect on a 2-0 defeat as not the end of the world tonight.

  2. Postpublished at 85 mins

    Stoke 0-2 Man City

Five minutes left, plenty of Stoke fans have left to get on the A500 early. Kevin de Bruyne leads a counter and plays Gabriel Jesus in - offside!

  3. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 84 mins

    Stoke 0-2 Man City

Bernardo Silva comes on for Raheem Sterling. A fine return for the England winger - although he probably should have scored just a moment ago.

  4. Postpublished at 84 mins

    Stoke 0-2 Man City

Stoke have made 206 passes. Nicolas Otamendi and Vincent Kompany have made 195.

  5. CLOSE!published at 81 mins

    Stoke 0-2 Man City

That's close to a hat-trick for David Silva, who can play at half speed. Matrix style. He gets the ball inside the area, waits, waits, waits as a maelstrom of Stoke players slip by each side. He turns on to his right foot and bends a shot just wide.

    Stoke 0-2 Man City

That was a late moment of slapstick. Should have been 3-0 but ultimately on harm done. Any more action in the tank?

  7. CLOSE!published at 80 mins

    Stoke 0-2 Man City

How has that not gone in! Chaos! There's a drop ball after that lengthy stoppage, Stoke think it's going to be uncontested but Raheem Sterling wins it and he's clean through on goal!

He goes around Jack Butland, and Badou Ndiaye does really well to make a goal saving challenge! Madness. Stoke fans and players are fuming but there was no reason as far as I can tell why Sterling should have given that up...

    Stoke 0-2 Man City

They've won the game, they've won the league, they have £100m of centre-halves on the bench - surely you just take Nicolas Otamendi off here? He's being bandaged up and assessed.

Looks like he's going to play on.

    Stoke 0-2 Man City

There's a clash of heads as both sets of physios come on to attend to their men. It's Stafylidis down for Stoke and I think Otamendi for Man City. A little stoppage needed.

  10. 'Players stopped playing for Pellegrino'published at 21:32 Greenwich Mean Time 12 March 2018

    Adam Blackmore
    BBC Radio Solent sports editor

Southampton have given Pellegrino every chance to adapt and grow and learn, but they went to Newcastle, and for the first time on Saturday it looked like for the first time that the players had chucked one in. The first time it looked like they hadn’t played for him and let him down.

I think they probably should have sacked him in January after losing at Crystal Palace. It has been toxic at St Mary's for a while now but they’ve resisted.

With a three-week gap before the next Premier League game, they realised this was their last chance to make a change as it didn’t seem they were going to get themselves out of danger as nothing was changing on the on the pitch.

    Stoke 0-2 Man City

Lovely from Gabriel Jesus in the centre circle to move away from two men, Kevin de Bruyne has Kyle Walker overlapping at a phenomenal rate of knots and he plays the England man in on goal.

Tight angle, head down, instep through the ball - well wide though. Poor strike that!

Leroy Sane has another go and it's better, saved by Jack Butland.

  12. New man at Saints by the weekend?published at 21:30 Greenwich Mean Time 12 March 2018

    Southampton

The word we have received from the street is that Southampton are hoping to have a replacement for Mauricio Pellegrino in place by the weekend.

They face Wigan on Sunday in the quarter finals of the FA Cup.

The club has confirmed Assistant Manager Carlos Compagnucci and Assistant First Team Coach Xavier Tamarit have also parted company with the club.

Dave Watson and Kelvin Davis both remain on the coaching staff at St Mary's.

Southampton have had just 1 win in their last 17 league games and their next league fixture is away to West Ham United.

Wayne: When we look back at the end of the season, we will see this game as the one when City won the title - because they now have 81 points. No-one else will exceed 80.

Tim: City will be 25 points ahead of Chelsea in 5th place and so qualify for Champions League with 8 games left.

  14. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 71 mins

    Stoke 0-2 Man City

Into the final 20. Manchester City have a line of five attackers strung across the 18-yard line and Raheem Sterling almost weaves his way in from the right. The ball struck the arm/shoulder of Konstantinos Stafylidis as he lunged in but that was never going to be a penalty.

The invincibles v the untouchables? A game I'd like to see. Fire up the flux capacitor.

Alex: City are in a different league to the rest. Silva must be the greatest import to the premier league.

Luke: This City side are fast approaching the picturesque Arsenal side of Henry, Bergkamp, Ljunberg & Co with those triangles of theirs. Not at that level yet but blimey these guys are good.

  17. Postpublished at 68 mins

    Stoke 0-2 Man City

Manchester City have nearly played as many passes since half time as Stoke have in the whole game. It's death by a thousand touches. Stoke finally get on the ball and do the right thing - lump it up to Crouchy. He wins a knock down for Joe Allen but there's an offside flag. That's got to be the way for Stoke to go though.

  18. Postpublished at 66 mins

    Stoke 0-2 Man City

Manchester City are still on track to win the title against Manchester United in a few weeks time but there are too many variables in play to worry about it just yet.

Twenty-five minutes to go. Have City declared at 2-0?

  19. CLOSE!published at 63 mins

    Stoke 0-2 Man City

Instant chance! The free-kick is a good one and while Peter Crouch doesn't win it he maybe causes some confusion and it ends with Bruno Martins Indi volleying over the top. That was a decent opportunity!
