I once let a door bang in the face of Mikael Silvestre the United player in a car park in Manchester. I was most apologetic, he was most gracious in accepting my apology. I didn't want to tell him I had been watching City since 1954.

The Manchester City fans are in fine voice as the players congregate in the tunnel. Jack Butland and Vincent Kompany shake hands to the strains of Eminem. Let's get this on.

Joe: Walked into my local pub a few years back in Essex to find out Julian Dicks was the new landlord. As a member of the Irons faithful and not part of the nonsense going on at the moment it was the best pint I have ever consumed!

Well I feel better about it all after the last hour or so - thanks one and all!

Almost kick-off at the Bet365, where the magnificent sound of Jackie Wilson is being played out, and the flags are all waving.

In the 17th minute at Boro on Saturday the whole ground stood to pay tribute to two teenage Boro fans killed in a car crash - at that same moment the amazing Adama Traore lit up the game with his goal and looked to the heavens. Despite it meaning nothing in the scheme of things I bet it brought comfort to the boys' families. Football can unite and comfort #UTB RIP boys.

Gabriel Jesus is still yet to taste defeat in the Premier League (W25 D5). He's also scored 15 goals in those 30 league appearances.

    Not too shabby!

Man City boss Pep Guardiola, speaking to Sky Sports: "Here it is always tough. Stoke are very fit."

On Jesus' return: "It was more than two months out. Playing 90 minutes more will be good for him. We will be patient with all the players coming back."

Will never forget that despite Streatham Rovers cancelling their annual children's hospital trip (long story!) forward Trevor Davies went in anyway with his banjo and a bag of sherbet lemons.

Twenty minutes to go until kick-off then. It's almost the perfect stereotype of a cold night in Stoke to test Pep Guardiola.

He looks calm enough. His side have won 25 of 29 league games...

    A career highlight Terry! Superb.

Maybe Jack Butland will pull off something similar this evening.

I'm Terry Lawlor - 82 years old. On Sunday morning I watched my 53 year old's under-18 team play their league leaders who were six points ahead of my son's team and haven't lost a game all season. My son's team won 5-0 BUT it was the first time I have witnessed the fact that the opposition had three penalties awarded AND my son's team goalkeeper got a hat trick as he saved all three kicks taken by three different penalty takers.

    Stoke City

Stoke manager Paul Lambert on Sky Sports: "The way results went were favourable for us at the weekend. We have been playing well and should have more points than we have.

"The spirit we have got is lively. It was a difficult call up front after losing Diouf, I felt we need speed up there so I have played Jese up there.

"City will have most of the ball so we have to hurt them. We have to make it ugly. We ain't going to beat them at football. We are going to have to run more than we ever have before."

Pep Guardiola has never lost a league game as a manager on a Monday, winning six and drawing one. That one blip was this season against Everton.

Evening from the Potteries, where it doesn’t get much tougher for Stoke. In the corresponding fixture in October Man City helped themselves to seven goals and it could have been double figures, so this is a daunting prospect.

Obviously they’ll try and win the game but also Stoke have to think of their goal difference at this stage of the season, a heavy defeat could be very damaging.

The home fans have to make this place the bear pit of old and here are two reasons for them to be hopeful, Wigan and Basel.

Hans Segers came to my school circa 1992 in his Wimbledon days and did goalkeeping drills with us. He didn't mind us laughing hysterically at his accent and inspired a few of my year to change positions to keeper.

Stoke need to find some wins from somewhere. Does anyone see a win tonight?

He hasn't started a league game since New Year's Eve, when he was injured at Crystal Palace. He scored against Basel in midweek but hasn't bagged in the league since November.
