  2. Postpublished at 50 mins

    China 0-4 Wales

A good burst forward from sub Yu Hanchao, which earns a corner.

China forward Wei Shihao is on the end of it with an acrobatic volley, which sails just wide of goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey's left-hand post.

That would have been some finish.

  3. CLOSE!published at 47 mins

    China 0-4 Wales

Wales start the second half as they played throughout the first. On the attack.

Declan John breaks forward but is dispossessed by a man in red and the ball drops nicely into the path of Gareth Bale 30 yards out.

The Real Madrid man, on a hat-trick, will have to wait to get his third as a curling effort is straight down the throat of goalkeeper Yan Junling.

Barnaby Hands: Watch a fair bit of Asian football. Haven't seen China play this badly before. Also I'd watch out for another record; China's record defeat was 8-0 in a friendly against Brazil in 2012, could be beaten today!

Aman‏: There may be a reason the Welsh may not like Ryan Giggs. But know that you have gained millions of Welsh supporting people (MUFC fans) around the world solely because he is the manager. Watching a stream of Wales Vs China sitting at work in India. Wales for Euro 2020!

  9. The quality of the opposition is not fantasticpublished at 12:33 Greenwich Mean Time 22 March 2018

    China 0-4 Wales

    Kevin Ratcliffe
Former Wales captain on BBC Radio Wales

The quality of the opposition is not great but the quality of goals absolutely fantastic.

We’ve got players going beyond, we’ve not had that in the past, I don’t think we’ve committed ourselves going forward as much as we have today.

We’re playing as good as we have for a long, long time, regardless of the opposition. It’s a great start for Ryan Giggs.

Nick Briggs Music‏: Following BBC Football live text from hostel in Accra. Saw a street hawker this morning with a Wales shoulder bag. Obviously a good omen!

Richard‏: If this is any indication of the Ryan Giggs era, bring on the Nations League! Wales are on fire.

Neal Monaghan: Happy birthday Harry Wilson. Ryan Giggs' Red Wall Army are going to win Euro 2020!

  12. Record breaker?published at 12:25 Greenwich Mean Time 22 March 2018

    China 0-4 Wales

    Danny Gabbidon
Former Wales defender on BBC One Wales

If Gareth Bale stays on the pitch in the second half I think he will break the record as China have been shocking.

  13. HALF-TIMEpublished at 12:23 Greenwich Mean Time 22 March 2018

China to get back into this game?

    Four-get about it.

  14. 'Take nothing away from the finish'published at 12:23 Greenwich Mean Time 22 March 2018

    China 0-4 Wales

    John Hartson
Former Wales striker on BBC One Wales

What a gift on your 21st birthday making your first start for Wales. The defending is shocking, but take nothing away from the finish. I am delighted for him.

  15. goal

GOAL - China 0-4 Walespublished at 45 mins

    Harry Wilson

It just gets better and better.

Harry Wilson, on his first start for Wales, nets his first goal.

It is a stunner. The Liverpool player, on loan at Hull, cuts inside of the He Guan and curls a delightful finish past the reach of goalkeeper Yan Junling and into the far corner.

A lovely present for birthday boy Wilson on his 21st birthday.

  16. Bale v Rush, who was quicker?published at 12:20 Greenwich Mean Time 22 March 2018

    Wales' Gareth BaleImage source, Reuters

Ian Rush reached 28 Wales goals in 66 appearances. He went on to play 72 times for his country.

Gareth Bale has reached 28 Wales goals in 69 appearances.

But Rush was always a number nine and Bale started as a left back and has never really been an out and out striker. Oh and he has never scored a hat-trick for his country.... (watch this space)

  17. CLOSE!published at 44 mins

    China 0-3 Wales

Gareth Bale is in a hurry to find this hat-trick, maybe because Ryan Giggs might not send him back out for the second half.

The Real Madrid man cranks his left foot up and cracks a well-executed drive from around 30 yards out, but China goalkeeper Yan Junling gets in behind it well.

  18. Postpublished at 43 mins

    China 0-3 Wales

The China players are blowing hard, they look puffed out already.

Two minutes until the interval and the hosts will get a much-needed break.

  20. It's going to be four or fivepublished at 12:16 Greenwich Mean Time 22 March 2018

    China 0-3 Wales

    Kevin Ratcliffe
Former Wales captain on BBC Radio Wales

The cross to Andy King and then the nod back, the eagerness from Sam Vokes to get a touch. It’s a great finish.

It’s going one-way. It’s going to be four or five, we’re creating chance after chance.
