There's not much Mo Salah hasn't done in a Liverpool shirt, but here's one... he's not scored a hat-trick for the Reds. He's got 45 minutes to change that...

Doesn't look Watford are making a change in personnel or shape at the start of this second half. Brave.

  5. Watford's lack of attackpublished at 18:28 Greenwich Mean Time 17 March 2018

    Liverpool 2-0 Watford

It's not an encouraging heat map for Watford as it shows they have rarely made waves into Liverpool's box.

Just the one shot on target for the visitors - a tame headed effort from Richarlison which was straight into the hands of Loris Karius.

Liverpool have had four shots in total and three have them have been on target.

  7. Sensational Salahpublished at 18:27 Greenwich Mean Time 17 March 2018

    Liverpool 2-0 Watford

Mo Salah continues to astound. And I still haven't managed to fit him into my fantasy football team. No wonder the fans want me to be sacked.

Salah's double moves him on to 34 for the season - now more goals than any other Liverpool player in their debut season at the club.

And 26 have come in the league, meaning he has climbed above Harry Kane in the race for the golden boot.

Here's another record in his sight: only one African player has netted more goals in a single Premier League campaign - Chelsea's Didier Drogba with 29 in 2009-10.

Luke Pedley: Salah will rightfully get the plaudits for Liverpool, but Mané has been exceptional.

Paul Walmsley: Andy Robertson a shout for the best left back in the Premier League right now? What a cross that was!

Liverpool’s performance mirrors their last home game against Newcastle, where they were in second gear throughout.

Watford seem to have come here just to keep the score down. But it is a good professional performance from Liverpool, they could be three or four goals up comfortably.

Sixty seconds of damage limitation for Watford passes by peacefully.

Liverpool in total and utter control. As it stands they are moving up to third in the Premier League and seven points clear of fifth-placed Chelsea.

    Liverpool 2-0 Watford

Salah got the goal and he will get the headlines, but what a cross from Andrew Robertson. He laid it on a plate for Salah, he barely had to move. Won’t score an easier goal all season.

    Mo Salah

    ....no. Watford can't hold out.

And guess who? Mo Salah can't help but tap in his 34th goal of the season after the chance was put on a plate by left-back Andy Robertson.

Robertson is picked out by Sadio Mane high up the flank and his low cross down the corridor of uncertainty leaves Salah with the easiest of tasks.

Liverpool have found their rhythm again. Can Watford hold out until the break?

    Liverpool 1-0 Watford

Oooh, almost two! The outside of James Milner's right boot gets Liverpool moving on the counter, finding Mo Salah who doesn't even need to look up to see where partner-in-crime Roberto Firmino is.

Firmino superbly changes direction with a bit of skill to leave Adrian Mariappa bamboozled, shooting straight at Watford keeper Orestis Karnezis. Either side...

Loris Karius might as well be sitting in Row A of the Kop. He's had nothing to do...

Oh, wake up Loris! Roberto Pereyra finds space on the right and clips a delightful cross up the far post where Richarlison is lurking. He springs higher than a kid on a trampoline, only to nod straight at the Liverpool keeper.
