A massive chance missed for Villa. Norwich did not perform like a side who had nothing to play for, but Villa lacked tempo for too long.

At 2-0 down Jack Grealish gave them hope, but Norwich were worthy winners.

Villa remain seven points behind Cardiff in the race for the top two.

Lewis Grabban is the man to profit from a decent Grealish corner but stabs it over from 12 yards.

A point is beyond Villa now, barring some ridiculous late drama. We are into the final minute of normal time.

Norwich should have had a fourth after a sweeping break.

The subs combine as Nelson Oliviera is played in down the left and clips a wonderful ball to the far post, which Wes Hoolahan cannot keep down on the half-volley.

Barnsley hold on to secure a vital three points in their bid to avoid relegation, Tom Bradshaw's late header making all the difference at full-time.

The Tykes are still in the bottom three, but that victory heaps the pressure on Birmingham ahead of their 15:00 kick-off against Burton.

Villa need a goal and they need it quick. The frustrations are clear as Jack Grealish goes into the referee's notebook after reacting angrily to a strong but fair challenge.

It looks game over, Villa were gambling pushing for the equaliser but they never set themselves.

You have got to be better organised then that even though they were going for it.

It's too little too late.

Villa are seeing plenty of the ball now. Jack Grealish is becoming increasingly influential.

But Norwich are dangerous on the break, and James Maddison has a shot deflected wide for a corner after a swift counter-attack.

There could well be more goals in this.

Norwich could well have a case hat a couple of Villa players were in Angus Gunn's line of sight when Jack Grealish made it 2-1.

But it doesn't seem to matter as much now.
