More from Chelsea boss Antonio Conte:

"We deserved to win the game and reach a second cup final in a row. To reach final we are very pleased, especially for our fans, they are the first to deserve this satisfaction.

"Now our target is to try and put a bit of pressure on the teams in front of us in the Premier League and get a place in the Champions League and finish as best as possible.

"It’s important for us to reach a final in this competition especially because we are struggling a lot in the league.

"In the Carabao Cup we reached the semi-final and in the league we dropped a lot of points and probably next season we will play in the Europa League and not the Champions League."

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte, speaking to BBC Sport:

"We are not in the position to prioritise (the FA Cup or fourth), if we want to continue to have hope of getting into the Champions League we have to take three points in these four games. Now we must be focused on the league."

  4. 'We were hard done by'published at 17:46 British Summer Time 22 April 2018

    Southampton

    More from Mark Hughes:

"The keeper Willy Caballero made a glaring mistake, he dropped it down his chest I’d have thought that was a clear situation that needed to be reviewed. I don’t know how they made that decision so quickly, Charlie Austin did nothing wrong.

"And there was a hand ball from following corner by Olivier Giroud, so we feel hard done by.

"Conceding first goal was always going to be detrimental We took a centre-back off and they were able to capitalise with a second goal. We have a huge game next weekend and the focus now is putting this disappointment behind us very very quickly.

  5. 'We didn’t get any luck'published at 17:43 British Summer Time 22 April 2018

    Chelsea 2-0 Southampton

    Southampton

Southampton manager Mark Hughes, speaking to BT Sport:

"In the first half we didn’t quite affect Chelsea as much as we talked about before the game so we were reasonably pleased to come in at half-time with it 0-0.

"Coming out and conceding early...the response was very good, obviously we're disappointed by the nature of it, after 30 seconds or so.

"We got a response but we didn’t get any luck."

"Eden gave me a good ball so I wanted to try something, I could see the defenders, it was lucky but yes it’s what I wanted to do."

"I said to the boys I really want to win another FA Cup with Chelsea, that’s the target. We want to win this trophy, it’s a special competition and for me as well. We will look forward for this amazing final."

    Chelsea 2-0 Southampton

    Chelsea

Chelsea forward Eden Hazard speaking to BBC Sport:

"We gave everything, we played very good football especially in the second half and controlled the game.

"Now we go to the final and for the championship (Premier League) again and then we can think about the final against Manchester United

"Southampton have good players, really good, so we had to be aware every time they had the ball and when you can score the second to close the game you have to do it. We will enjoy the final now.

Is fifth in the Premier League and the FA Cup a good season?

“No we want to finish in the top four and win the FA Cup that’s the target.”

Sentimental football on the pitch is one thing but it all counts for nothing if you don't score. Southampton don't deserve anything but relegation this season. Poor transfer market, poor board decision too little too late. Enjoy the Championship.
