The weight of the pass is perfect from Roberto Firmino. What a chance again! You have got to be hitting the target from there. What is Mane doing!

    Liverpool 0-0 Roma

Sadio Mane again! This time sending a shot over the stands over from Roberto Firmino's cutback.

Roma get away with that one. The hosts are really starting to exploit that high line.

  9. 'A great chance'published at 20:14 British Summer Time 24 April 2018

    Liverpool 0-0 Roma

    Robbie Fowler
Former Liverpool striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

You don't want to be missing chances like that in Champions League semi-finals. It is a great chance.

  10. CLOSE!published at 29 mins

    Liverpool 0-0 Roma

What a chance! What a chance for Liverpool and they really should be 1-0 up.

Roberto Firmino plays a great ball through the defence and Sadio Mane is away and in on goal. All he has to do is tuck it into the net but lashes over.

Johnny: OK so are we allowed to change opponents? Think I’d prefer to be up against Real Madrid to be honest.. this Roma side mean business.

Ceaser: This Roma side is not half bad. I now see why Barcelona got beat.

  13. YELLOW CARDpublished at 27 mins

    Liverpool 0-0 Roma

Juan Jesus goes in late on Sadio Mane and is booked. That's good news for Liverpool because he'll have to be that bit more careful in his tussles with Mohamed Salah.

  14. 'Liverpool struggling in midfield'published at 20:10 British Summer Time 24 April 2018

    Liverpool 0-0 Roma

    Robbie Fowler
Former Liverpool striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

I think Liverpool are struggling going forward and defensively in midfield, they cannot get on the ball. Nainggolan, De Rossi and Strootman are stopping them from playing, when Roma get on the ball, they seem to be finding 10 yards of space,

So far, so good for Roma, who are playing as they did against Barcelona by pressing high up the field.

Liverpool are yet to really get into their groove.

James: Liverpool lucky to still be 0-0. Kolarov with a trademark strike cracks the bar with the keeper nowhere to be seen.

Andy: Karius is not good enough for Liverpool. Not entirely sure he is good enough for Accrington Stanley.

  18. Roma make composed startpublished at 20:07 British Summer Time 24 April 2018

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Anfield

Roma are trying to do their best to cool the red hot atmosphere inside Anfield and so far they will be very satisfied. They look composed on the ball and as yet Liverpool have not been able to make much of an impact.

The big quality in this Liverpool side, however, is that their quality in attack means they usually get a chance eventually. Plenty of time for them yet.

  19. Postpublished at 21 mins

    Liverpool 0-0 Roma

Not a good sight for Liverpool fans. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is on a stretcher being taken down the tunnel.

Meanwhile, Roma come forward again as Cengiz Ünder gets into the area, Dejan Lovren produces a rather wild swipe to get the ball away and Anfield breathes a collective sigh of relief as they look at the referee. Nothing given.

    Liverpool 0-0 Roma

    Robbie Savage
Ex-Leicester City & Wales midfielder on BBC Radio 5 live

What a strike from Kolarov! Karius saves it, he did not look comfortable at all. A let-off for Liverpool.

He made a mess of it, but the most important thing is he saved it.
