Now a huge let-off for Stoke. Wilfried Zaha has a glorious chance but blazes over unmarked from 10 yards. He's a man in form and I'd have put a fair bit of money on him scoring from there.

That was a chance for Stoke, all of Crystal Palace's making.

Luka Milivojevic needlessly gives the ball away on the edge of the box, presenting it to the feet of Badou Ndiaye.

The midfielder looks a little startled he has the ball but feeds through Xherdan Shaqiri. Shaqiri is offside however and the chance is gone.

Stoke are struggling to create any of the momentum they need. 18-year-old Tyrese Campbell looks like he could be introduced by Paul Lambert soon.

So as things stand Stoke are back to 19th and are two points behind Swansea in 17th having played two games more.

They are on the brink of relegation. They will be down if Swansea avoid defeat or Southampton win later.

West Brom stay up for now at least.

This could all fall apart for Stoke now. Again they are left horribly exposed after pushing forward but this time Palace can't find the killer move.

There are 20 minutes left for Stoke to find a crucial goal.

It's a typical Palace goal. Stoke had just made the change but they lost the ball. The back four have been defending the box very well but they haven't defended the halfway line. Zaha was free and ran at the back four before McCarthur equalises.

And now Stoke make their first change. Peter Crouch doesn't look too impressed to be being replaced but applauds all corners of the ground on his way off.

Ramadan Sobhi comes on in his place.

Both players are booked for the scuffle and then Glen Johnson has a second go after the pair walk away from the ref. This is getting feisty.

Christian Benteke is on for Palace too in place of Yohan Cabaye.

What's gone on here? James Tomkins and Glen Johnson have their foreheads right up against each other and a melee ensues.

There are over three thousand Crystal Palace fans at Stoke this afternoon. They have more than contributed to the atmosphere, but they will be a little bit disappointed with Palace’s cutting edge in this second-half.

What Stoke need to rely on now, is a good back-four performance where they defend the box with their lives. Jack Butland will also have to have a good second-half if they are to stay in front.

"Go on, go on," yell the home fans! Stoke break dangerously but neither Badou Ndiaye or Peter Crouch could quite get the ball under control in order to get a shot away.

Scratch what I said about the flow suiting Stoke a little earlier. Palace charge forward into the space vacated by that attack but it comes to nothing.

Stoke are currently sitting too deep and being constantly over-run on their left flank,where Patrick van Aanholt and Wilfried Zaha look dangerous.

The Potters need to start producing something at the other end or this will be a very long half-hour for their fans inside the bet365 Stadium,

Meanwhile the usually excellent Luka Milivojevic wastes a free-kick for Palace by hitting his cross out of play, cue ironic cheers.
