  1. Puel coy on Foxes futurepublished at 17:54 British Summer Time 13 May 2018

    Tottenham 5-4 Leicester

    Leicester City

Leicester manager Claude Puel, speaking to Sky Sports: "We played a good game with good intensity. We should have won this game. It is crazy to lose this game when we scored four goals away. We had to do much better after our third goal. It is a shame we saw a good game, a crazy game.

On his future: "I make no comments about speculation around me. I try to keep my concentration on the team."

  2. 'It looked like everyone had one eye on the cup final'published at 17:52 British Summer Time 13 May 2018

    FT: Newcastle 3-0 Chelsea

    Chelsea

Chelsea defender Gary Cahill said: "That was a below par performance, and for whatever reason we were way off the pace today. Newcastle started very well and we were sloppy.

"It looked to me like everyone had one eye on the cup final which is very dangerous and we were lucky the game was kind of irrelevant. Had the Champions League truly been on the line it would have been very difficult to take. We came here to give a performance and take three points. Prior to the Huddersfield game we were in good form but that’s not an excuse."

Asked about Chelsea's mentality ahead of their trip to Wembley, Cahill added: "We have got a massive week now to prepare for a cup final. I’d certainly like to think people gave their all today, and to not do so would be extremely disappointing. I don't care if you're a top class player or a basic player, hard work is just a basic of the game."

  3. 'We’d like to take the lead more next year'published at 17:47 British Summer Time 13 May 2018

    Burnley 1-2 Bournemouth

    Bournemouth

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe speaking to BBC MOTD

"Certainly next year we’d like to take the lead more but the attitude of our players today to come back is really pleasing. We didn't play well in the first-half but responded really well, created chances and I'm delighted to win."

    Impact of the subs?

"They are three quality players, the substitutes - Dan Gosling, Jermain Defoe and Callum Wilson - I couldn't have picked a better three to come on and they came on and helped the momentum to shift back our way like we've done with our substitutes at other times this season.

"The only disappointment is we finished below where we finished last season but that says more about how good we were last year. We can do better, must do better and we have already started working on that."

  4. 'A hurdle too far'published at 17:46 British Summer Time 13 May 2018

    Crystal Palace 2-0 West Brom

West Brom caretaker boss Darren Moore, speaking to MOTD: "It was disappointing. Mentally, this was a hurdle too far. Everyone has done really well over the last five weeks but today was a tough ask against a quality team. I can't complain, it's been an end of the season where pride has been restored when it could've been terrible.

"We lick our wounds, get to the summer and start the rebuilding process. We achieved some great results over the five games and pulled back a points deficit to give us a glimmer of hope.

"But then when relegation was confirmed, all that effort was hard to take. There was definitely a hangover today. We just ran out of steam.

"It's for me now to get over this game and then we'll look in the week and pick it up from there. It would be unfair to speak about my future now but I will be part of any process going forward."

  6. 'The first person to answer for that performance is the coach'published at 17:45 British Summer Time 13 May 2018

    Newcastle 3-0 Chelsea

    Chelsea

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte: "We deserved to lose because our start wasn’t good and we suffered by losing every ball. Newcastle were more determined than us. We didn’t lose our Champions League place today, we had chances in the last two games, but to finish the season this way is not good for anyone connected to the club. When you are at the end of the season, this performance can happen, but the first person to answer for this must be the coach. I wasn’t able to convey that determination to my players."

On facing Manchester United in next weekend's FA Cup final: "We have six days to prepare for the final of the FA Cup and we have to change."

Asked if today's defeat was his last Premier League game in charge of Chelsea: "I have a contract and I am committed to this club."

So no Champions League football for Chelsea next season then. Antonio Conte might just have sealed his own fate with that shocker of a performance at St James' Park...

  8. 'Our season shows more good than bad'published at 17:44 British Summer Time 13 May 2018

    Liverpool 4-0 Brighton

    Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton boss Chris Hughton to MOTD: "It was a very hard afternoon for us. We knew when we came here we would have to play at a very high level and stay in the game but they caused us so many problems.

"The only disappointment was that we didn't keep posession well enough today. The season as a whole, we have been in nearly every game and we haev had good performances against the big clubs.

"We find it hard playing the top six away from home but our season shows more good than bad."

  9. Best lap of honour I've ever had - Wagnerpublished at 17:42 British Summer Time 13 May 2018

    Huddersfield 0-1 Arsenal

    Huddersfield Town

Huddersfield manager David Wagner after his club celebrated securing another season in the Premier League: "I think these players, the backroom staff and all the families deserve it for what they have done this season. They have worked very hard from day one.

"We're happy our supporters have something to celebrate. It is the best lap of honour I've ever had.

"I think staying up is a huge step for the football club, it was a massive step to get promoted last season and to keep our status is even bigger. To finish 16th is huge, an incredible achievement for this football club."

On Arsene Wenger's career at Arsenal: "Twenty two years as a manager at one football club is incredible. Even if you speak about it you can't believe it.

"I've been here for two and a half years and already it feels like 22 years! It was an honour for us to host his last game as Arsenal manager because he is a legend - a living legend."

  10. 'I had no idea about Salah's record'published at 17:41 British Summer Time 13 May 2018

    Liverpool 4-0 Brighton

    Liverpool

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp to MOTD: "The boys had pressure on them, massive for the last few weeks, it is fantastic to qualify this year. It's a massive achievement.

"We did it in an impressive manner. We tried to win the game from the first second. A point was enough but I have no real idea how to go for a point. We could have scored many more but I'm glad we didn't, Brighton did not deserve that after a really good season.

"James Milner will be fine, just today was a bit early for him. Two weeks break is perfect for us. We will be ready for the final, now I am really looking forward to it. We couldn't think about it as long as we are not in the Champions League next year.

"This group of players really deserve it. They keep moving to the next level.

"I had no clue about the record [Salah's 32 goals], I took him off and then I heard that Tottenham had scored five - Harry Kane could have got them all! He has been brilliant, and he can improve so much. He will score in the future, 100%."

  11. We have achieved our aim - Kanepublished at 17:36 British Summer Time 13 May 2018

    Tottenham 5-4 Leicester

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham goalscorer Harry Kane, speaking to Sky Sports, on his team's victory: "It was incredible - one of those games at the end of the season where both teams want to attack.

"We are delighted to win from 3-1 down. We always knew we could create chances (at 3-1 behind).

"It was about staying calm and the score gave us wake-up call. It was nice to finish it off.

"It has been a good season with everything that has gone on with Wembley. The main aim was to qualify for the Champions League for next season."

Speaking to Sky Sports, Newcastle midfielder Jonjo Shelvey said: "We didn't expect to dominate against Chelsea like that because they are a great team, but we deserved it today. The first goal was important and we were able to build on it from there."

Asked about his assessment of the season, Shelvey said: "It has been an up and down season but since I've got back in the team I have played well. Credit to the manager for showing trust in me. I just wanted to get back playing and get in that rhythm."

Asked about possible selection for England, Shelvey said: "I would love to go to the World Cup. It would be my dream but it's not down to me, that decision lies with Gareth Southgate."

  13. 'Been planning for Europe for a month'published at 17:34 British Summer Time 13 May 2018

    Burnley 1-2 Bournemouth

    Burnley

Burnley manager Sean Dyche speaking to BBC MOTD:

"They were two horrible goals - things we don’t normally do. There was no lack of effort, we had it all under control and then we give away two awful goals.

"Your winning instinct gets knocked (losing) but I haven't forgotten what we've done. These lads have been fantastic with what they’ve given as a collective this season and with what European competition means for this area. It's amazing.

"The journey continues from five-and-a-half-years ago. It's not been all me, the staff, the players, the board have been fantastic and everything has been aligned."

    Europe next season?

"I was already thinking what comes next a month ago. It was looking like it was going to get there, we finally did so I was already planning and thinking about it. That's just the nature of what it is to be a manager."

    Manager of the year?

"I've been on the list a couple of times in the past but I haven't won one. That would be nice."

  14. I'm addicted to managing - Wengerpublished at 17:34 British Summer Time 13 May 2018

    Huddersfield 0-1 Arsenal

    Arsenal

Departing Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger suggests he wants to continue working as he prepares to leave the Gunners after 22 years: "I will stay in football for sure. Whether that is managing or not... I am addicted and I don't think that can be cured."

On being given a standing ovation by the entire stadium in the 22nd minute: "I didn't know that would happen, they were fantastic. I have a little bit of a special bond here because Herbert Chapman came from the club to our club and he is certainly our greatest manager. So it had a special meaning."

  15. 'We need a few tweaks'published at 17:33 British Summer Time 13 May 2018

    Huddersfield 0-1 Arsenal

    Arsenal

Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey: "We wanted to do that for Arsene Wenger. It was important for us - we hadn't won this year away from home.

"Our home form has been very strong but the away form has killed us. It will be strange going back to pre-season with him and the staff not being there.

"He wanted us to go out and play with a smile on our face and we've done that.

"We need a few tweaks here and there but whoever comes in with relish the chance to move this club forward."

  16. 'We could win it'published at 17:33 British Summer Time 13 May 2018

    Liverpool

    Jordan HendersonImage source, Reuters

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson to Sky Sports: "We thought we would need the win to make sure of a top-four place and it was a good way for the season to end at Anfield.

"We kept probing, got the goal and then we could open them up. Not many people would say we would get to the Champions League final, we are progressing and learning from the manager. We have a good chance of winning trophies.

"City have been amazing this season, they thoroughly deserve it but next year we want to be closer to them and who knows, we could win it.

"We beat City in the Champions Legaue but they have been fantastic and will be stronger next season. So will we though.

"We will train hard for the next two weeks, keep the intensity high and we want to go into the final flying."

  19. 'I will make the right decision'published at 17:27 British Summer Time 13 May 2018

    Swansea 1-2 Stoke

    Swansea City

Swansea manager Carlos Carvalhal told BBC Sport: "In my opinion, the few points that the team achieved in the first part of the season sent us down. When I arrived we had 13 points. In 18 games, we got 20 points. The beginning of the season was not good. We tried to recover. Me and my players were on the limits, we did the maximum that we could.

"Getting 20 points was very good, not fantastic. Over the whole season it would have been enough to finish around 13th.

"I’m only here for four months, so I can’t talk about the structure of the club. I’m not the best person to talk about that.

"I talked with the owners yesterday. We will talk again on Monday. I will think about Swansea and myself. I must talk with my family. After that I will make the right decision about my future.

"I know the Championship and reached the play-offs twice. It’s not common for a team to reach the play-offs two years in a row. In this moment, I must breathe. Afterwards, I will think about that."

John Motson on the pitch at Selhurst Park...

"It's been a fantastic day, I've always had a nice reception at Selhurst Park but today has been terrific. I've had people running up to me for autographs. I've had a great reception everywhere this season but I've not been received with quite the enthusiasm I've had today."
