Who gets the main striking gig for United then? Presumably Marcus Rashford will get a run in the centre with the option of swapping out to the left wing in place of Anthony Martial.

And who would have picked Glenn Murray - 12 goals in 33 Premier League games for Brighton this season - as the Seagulls go-to guy in attack in the Premier League when he made his loan move to the club back in July 2016?

Brighton make two changes from the weekend - Glenn Murray starts up front instead of Leonardo Ulloa - and Davy Propper, back from suspension, replaces Beram Kayal in midfield.

Six changes for Manchester United. Alexis Sanchez isn't named in the matchday squad at all. Marouane Fellaini starts after his late winner against Arsenal from the bench. Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford, Juan Mata, Marcos Rojo and Matteo Darmian all come in.

Antonio Valencia, Victor Lindelof, Ander Herrera, Jesse Lingard and the injured Romelu Lukaku all drop out of the XI.

Glenn Murray returns up front for Brighton with Leonardo Ulloa and record signing Jurgen Locadia on the bench. Midfielder Davy Propper is back in the starting line-up after serving a three-match suspension.

Manchester United ring the changes with six tweaks to the side that beat Arsenal on Sunday.

Marouane Fellaini - who scored the winner against the Gunners - starts alongside Juan Mata, Anthony Martial, Matteo Darmian, Marcus Rashford and Marcos Rojo.

Alexis Sanchez has the night off, dropping out the squad entirely.

Neither of these teams have quite sacked off the Premier League to mentally soak up the rays, but it looks like pretty much everyone else in Brighton has.

In anticipation of summer, the first bank holiday weekend of the year and the World Cup, we are after your favourite memories of football played in the baking heat.

I'm thinking Dean Windass' bleach-blond play-off punt of glory.

Steve Staunton and the rest of the Republic of Ireland squad sweltering in Orlando at World Cup 1994.

    That kind of thing.

Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford have spent this season in Romelu Lukaku's considerable shadow.

Twenty-year-old Rashford has made just two starts in 2018, with Martial racking up 1494 minutes of Premier League action - equivalent to just over 16 games - across the whole campaign.

Tottenham, Chelsea and Juventus are all apparently keen to take the Frenchman off United's hands in the summer.

"They have had limited opportunities because Romelu has played all the games this season," Mourinho said.

"He was playing well and was playing the way I wanted him to play and has had no injuries, no suspensions. But I do trust them, no problem."

No problem for Jose, what about for Martial and Rashford though?

    Premier League table

    They are almost there.

In truth United have been cruising towards second ever since March's 2-1 win over closest chasers Liverpool.

Victory wouldn't quite wrap up the 2017-18 silver medal but it would take a Usual Suspects-level final twist to deny the Red Devils.

With Manchester City over the horizon and far away long ago, Jose Mourinho believes that second place with 81 points - the same total that Leicester lifted the trophy with in 2016 and one more than United's 2010-11 title-winners amassed - would constitute a good season for United.

"If we do that it's successful because 81 points breaks the 80-point target and gives us much more points than last season," Jose said last month.

"It means we won more matches, scored more goals, conceded less and to have better results against the top teams."

    Premier League

This is the situation down the bottom of the table. Sorry West Brom, I've boinged the Baggies down to the Championship already.

A win against Manchester United tonight would guarantee the hosts' survival. A draw would near as goodness do it.

Another year of Premier League television payments, another summer of squad strengthening and gradually top-flight life looks a little less precarious on the south coast.

“We know next season is going to be tough, a lot tougher than this.

"Of course when those moments happen that is the time when we need you more than ever."

Those were Chris Hughton's word to Brighton's fans twelve months ago as the club celebrated promotion and contemplated a first season in the top flight since 1983.

Today is the Seagulls' final home game of their Premier League return.

The final chance for the Amex to have it's say.

One last puff of support to push their side over the top and to safety.
