    Alex: OMG A GOAL

    Andrew: Smash and grab!

Matthew: It's the World Cup of late goals. Great. No relaxing for England fans.

    Oh my.

The first decent delivery in the game results in a goal and it's an absolute howler by Morocco substitute Aziz Bouhaddouz.

Iran's Ehsan Haji Safi swings in a testing cross and Bouhaddouz absolutely flies across to head in into his own net.

There wasn't even an Iran attacker that near to him. A horrid error.

    Morocco 0-0 Iran

Alireza Beiranvand is taking an age over a goal-kick, with just three minutes remaining.

As I type that, his long blast up the pitch results in a free-kick for Iran just outside the Morocco area on the left.

    Big opportunity here.

    Morocco 0-0 Iran

Ooh, a bit of a barney breaks out on the pitch as frustrations boil over.

Referee Cuneyt Cakir cools it down pretty quickly.

But then there's a bit of aggro on the benches too! Herve Renard and Carlos Queiroz shake hands and smile about it soon enough though.

Alex: I could play in this game and not look out of my depth

Bob: I've seen better school yard matches...& that was with a tennis ball

    Morocco 0-0 Iran

This is simply one of the worst passages of play I've ever seen.

Morocco substitute Manuel da Costa brings the ball forward and attempts a strike from about 40 yards out but makes such a mess of it, the ball nearly goes out for a throw.

He then looks to have tweaked something in his back, grimacing as he reaches down.

    Morocco 0-0 Iran

Well Uruguay scored a late winner against Egypt earlier. Any chance of one here?

With all the stoppages there should be approximately 20 minutes of added time.

    Actually, there are six.

    Morocco 0-0 Iran

Morocco try to build down the right and have men on the overlap, but the cross over is cleared away.

Romain Saiss then clips Ramin Rezaeian, with the Iran defender throwing himself to the floor and putting in about eight rolls in 'agony'.

That's poor. You never go full Simeone.

Cal: Surprised by the lack of urgency in this half - for either of these teams to progress, a win here is surely crucial? Can't see Spain or Portugal giving up easy points.

  10. Postpublished at 87 mins

    Morocco 0-0 Iran

Morocco play the ball forward and it's headed out to Hakim Ziyech, whose first-time effort is blocked and Iran regroup to recover possession.

They then come forward but at no real pace, instead having to check back.

An ambitious ball forward is then easily cut out.

A clash of heads does require a delay though.

Thankfully Medhi Benatia is alright to continue.

Amrul: These players need to stop dropping like flies and delaying this match.

    Morocco 0-0 Iran

    Urgh.

Morocco swing the ball to the left and Real Madrid left-back Achraf Hakimi takes his eye off the ball, allowing it to run out under his foot.

    Morocco 0-0 Iran

Alireza Jahanbakhsh is carried off on a stretcher following a pretty mediocre performance, to be replaced by Saman Ghoddos.

Would be lovely to get 10 minutes of uninterrupted play now.

James: Saturday training session...how to beat the first man from a corner, followed by how to look over your shoulder for the overlap. So poor.

  16. Postpublished at 82 mins

    Morocco 0-0 Iran

Alireza Jahanbakhsh is now down with cramp.

And has actually just given the roll of the fingers to the bench.

More pauses than a Harold Pinter play in this second half.

  17. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 82 mins

    Morocco 0-0 Iran

Morocco are taking off tricky winger Amine Harit for former West Ham defender Manuel da Costa.

Must be for a change of system, perhaps going to three at the back and push the full-backs forward.

  18. Postpublished at 81 mins

    Morocco 0-0 Iran

Morocco can't fashion anything from the corner.

But has that Ziyech effort reinvigorated the Lions of the Atlas?

  19. GREAT SAVE!published at 79 mins

    Morocco 0-0 Iran

Hello! Younes Belhanda brings it down and looks to hit it on the turn before heading it down smartly to Hakim Ziyech.

The Ajax man hits a stinging effort but Alireza Beiranvand does brilliantly to stretch to his right and palm it round the corner.

  20. 'Morocco have been more disappointing'published at 17:40 British Summer Time 15 June 2018

    Morocco 0-0 Iran

    Chris Sutton
Ex-Chelsea striker on BBC Radio 5 live

Neither side has played with enough desperation. Morocco have been more disappointing after the way they started the match by popping the ball about, but they just seem to have run out of ideas.
