    Portugal 3-3 Spain

    Cesc Fabregas
Chelsea and Spain midfielder on BBC One

Hierro made some tactical changes, and considering what has happened in the last 48 hours, I think we will take tonight's result.

Diego Costa had his best game for Spain, no doubt. Not just the goals but what he does with the ball, his runs. His one-twos were more efficient.

    Alan Shearer
Former Newcastle striker on BBC One

When both managers watch that game back, they will be very happy about going through to the next round, with the quality of the other two teams in this group.

We wanted this to be a good World Cup.

Tonight was a classic example of two great teams going for it.

The night is about Cristiano. He is relentless in his pursuit of greatness. There is no doubting he has got a big ego, but you can see after the game even though they got a draw, he is rallying his teammates and driving them on

There is more to that goal from Ronaldo, he makes the draw feel like a win to Portugal, they were celebrating with the fans. For Spain it feels like a defeat.

I’m going to get a flight back tomorrow because I won’t see a better game.

Brilliant absolutely quality. Two teams who are technically good. Don’t write off Portugal, strong mentality good team spirit. Spain at times were great to watch, when they ar popping the ball around, there aren’t many better sights.

Ronaldo will get headlines but Costa looked great when Spain played to his strengths.

Is anyone else wondering what Lionel Messi made of that? Argentina play Iceland tomorrow.

    Should Iceland be worried?

One or two will ask why I said at half time Ronaldo needs to work on free-kicks, well it's his 45th attempt at major championships - and he's done it today.

His second goal was due to a very rare De Gea mistake. Ronaldo takes a gamble to his right, but it should have been a basic save.

You know what Ronaldo is like, he writes the headlines whenever he plays. Fortunate I think for the penalty but took it well, the second was a De Gea mistake.

The third goal you can't take anything away. Great free-kick.

I'm really happy for Diego Costa to get two goals. He has had a lot of stick in the last four years and tonight he proved he really is the main man for Spain.

Spain looked good in periods but they couldn't sustain it. When Spain come off the pace they look vulnerable.

What Ronaldo is doing on the world stage is ridiculous. Portugal went 3-2 down and he had to pick himself and his team up to get the equaliser.
