South Korea midfielder Ju Se-jong: "I expect Germany will come out strong in order to score as many goals as possible against us, which could allow us some space at their back. We’d have to take full advantage of that with our quick counter-attacks."

  4. 'Germany have issues up front'published at 14:44 British Summer Time 27 June 2018

South Korea v Germany (15:00 BST)

    Chris Sutton
Ex-Chelsea striker on BBC Radio 5 live

I think there are issues up front for Germany. Mario Gomez and Timo Werner are different players. Gomez offers more physicality whereas Werner is sharper and can get in behind but I don't think Joachim Low seems to know his best team.

Germany attacker Julian Brandt (on the bench today): "We shouldn't change the way we play.

"We have to carry on as we played against the Swedes for long periods: short, quick passes, with forward pressure. We will try to constrict the opposition in their own back third."

Joachim Low will keep his job even if Germany crash out today.

He has been in charge for 12 years, winning the last World Cup, and signed a contract extension until 2022 last month.

"We decided in the DFB executive committee before the World Cup to offer a contract extension," said German FA boss Reinhard Grindel.

"We believe there will be a transition that will take place after the World Cup, regardless of the outcome of the tournament, and no-one is better equipped to handle that than Jogi Low."

  13. Lawro's predictionpublished at 14:23 British Summer Time 27 June 2018

South Korea v Germany (15:00 BST)

    Mark Lawrenson
    BBC football expert

I could not believe how bad Germany were against Mexico but they showed why they are world champions with the way they rescued themselves so late on with their win over Sweden.

They surely won't have any more slip-ups this time, against a South Korea side who have been beaten in both their games so far.

    Prediction: 0-2

World Cup 2018: Fifa to investigate Germany and Sweden full time scuffle

Sweden coach Janne Andersson said he would be "dead inside" if he had not reacted to provocative celebrations by Germany after their World Cup defeat.

The German Football Association (DFB) suspended two members of staff following the angry exchanges that occurred between both benches.

Media coordinator Uli Voigt and head of backroom staff Georg Behlau aren't at today's game and Fifa are investigating the behaviour.

  17. Team news - Muller droppedpublished at 14:13 British Summer Time 27 June 2018

South Korea v Germany (15:00 BST)

Germany make five changes from the side that beat Sweden as Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil returns to the side as does Juventus midfielder Sami Khedira.

Mats Hummels, back after a neck injury, replaces the suspended Jerome Boateng, with starts also for Leon Goretzka and Niklas Sule.

Thomas Muller, Julian Draxler and Antonio Rudiger drop to the bench and Sebastian Rudy is unlikely to feature as he needed a minor operation on his nose following a fracture against Sweden.

South Korea, bottom of the group on zero points still have a chance of advancing. Tottenham's Son Heung-min captains the side as ex-Swansea man Ki Sung-yeung is out because of a calf strain.
