    Mexico 0-3 Sweden

I've not seen a finish to a game like this before. Mexico know their only chance is if South Korea hold on against Germany.

Some of these Sweden players would have thought this would be their last game in the tournament. They have so much spirit, bravely and courage. Such a fit side.

  5. CLOSE!published at 83 mins

    Mexico 0-3 Sweden

    How did you miss?

Carlos Vela at the back post. It looks easier to score but there is too much pace on the ball and he can't divert it in.

If Germany score it'll all come down to goal difference between them and Mexico.

Mexico will have to score at least two if that happens.

    Pressure? What pressure.

This was the moment it got comfortable for Sweden when Andreas Granqvist scored their second.

I thought after the first game for Mexico, with their running and intensity I wondered if they could sustain it for three games. And the fact that he hasn’t rotated means the players have had to lift if for all three games.

  10. CLOSE!published at 77 mins

    Mexico 0-3 Sweden

Javier Hernandez almost pulls one back immediately but Robin Olsen saves in the Sweden net.

Actually, cancel that. He was offside anyway.

The Mexicans look close to tears in the crowd. You're still through as it stands!!

Catastrophic error by Alvarez. He has done well going forward, but defensively has been poor. Misses the first ball with his left foot, his body position all wrong. This is turning into a disaster for Mexico.

GOAL - Mexico 0-3 Swedenpublished at 74 mins

    Edson Alvarez own goal

    All over.

A shocking mistake. Sweden throw in a long throw and somehow Edson Alvarez misses his attempt at a clearance and the ball bounces off him and goes in.

Mexico aren't going to win this one. They're relying on a favour from South Korea now.

Tricks and flicks from Ola Toivonen for Sweden. You may be comfortable but I'm not sure it's the time for that.

The Mexican free-kick comes to nothing. 20 minutes left. Sweden are pretty comfortable now. They just need the win. It's Mexico who are at risk if Germany can find a goal.

As it stands though the Germans are going out of the World Cup for the first time since 1938.
