Gareth Southgate has plenty of options on the bench. Fabian Delph was warming up in the first half, we thought that Dele Alli was a concern but he stayed on.

Jimbob: Is there anybody on the bench that doesn't bottle it in front of goal? Get Vardy or Rashford on and Sterling and Lingard off they've been poor.

Robert: So far, so ok. Sterling has done nothing, need Vardy to liven things up.

Damian: Nice to see the youngsters keep the heads up after the penalty. Chances will come, no worries.

Ben: Good first half from England so far. But need to take their chances more in front of goal. Tunisia have not been too shabby either

Sonsofpunjab: Feel positive about 2nd half, got a feeling England will run out comfortable winners in the end 3-1 / 4-1....or is this just wishful thinking??

  5. 'Panama gave an incredible effort'published at 19:58 British Summer Time 18 June 2018

    Belgium 3-0 Panama

Belgium coach Roberto Martinez said: "There are no easy games and in the first half we started very well for the first 10-15 minutes then Panama become effective with their defensive structure and we got a bit anxious.

"But I'm delighted in the way we reacted as a team - everyone was committed to keep a clean sheet and in the second half it was about finding a bit of composure in front of goal. We couldn't be prouder of the team.

"It was a great goal from Dries Mertens and that gave us some breathing space and from that point on we were more ourselves and more in control.

"I thought Panama gave an incredible amount of effort but it is difficult to maintain that for more than 45 minutes and my players deserve huge credit for the way we played for 90 minutes."

  6. 'We have a lot of players with qualities'published at 19:58 British Summer Time 18 June 2018

    Belgium 3-0 Panama

Belgium striker Romelu Lukaku, who scored twice, said: "It is important to start well and win the game and as a team we know we have a lot of players with qualities. We were ready today and need to be ready for the next game as that will be more difficult than this one was."

On whether he can be the top goalscorer at the World Cup: "I'm not thinking in personal terms, the most important thing is the team.

"I want to help my team-mates as much as possible and the most important aspect for me is to win matches, continue working and to be in top shape during the rest of the World Cup."

If Kyle Walker is positioned correctly, he doesn't concede a penalty. a centre half facing his own goal when a ball is coming into the box is criminal.

  10. 'England needed to take their chances'published at 19:54 British Summer Time 18 June 2018

    Tunisia 1-1 England

    Alan Shearer
Former Newcastle striker on BBC One

The vast majority of the play from England was very positive, they went after Tunisia, the passing was crisp and varied. They got the goal and we thought they would push on.

We've created so many chances, at this level you take them or you are punished. We should have scored three or four.

    Tunisia 1-1 England

    Chris Waddle
Ex-England winger on BBC Radio 5 live

The hardest thing to do is create chances and we have done that. If three of those had fallen to Harry Kane it would be 4-1 and game over.

  14. 'Where is the consistency?'published at 19:52 British Summer Time 18 June 2018

    Tunisia 1-1 England

    Terry Butcher
Ex-England captain on BBC Radio 5 live

The penalty is a joke. The official is a joke and the refereeing in this tournament has been poor. I'm appalled at the referee for being conned by weak players who have the audacity to have a go at the England players for doing the same thing. Where is the consistency in that?

    Tunisia 1-1 England

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Volgograd Arena

Everyone in the crowd here in Volgograd loved bits of that first half - England fans, Tunisian fans, neutral fans.

All action and England manager Gareth Southgate will be scratching his head at how they are not in possession of a commanding lead.

England have, however, learned a very brutal early World Cup lesson. You simply cannot be as careless as they have been, even if it only on one or two occasions, and expect to go unpunished.

Alex: England's finishing, 1 out of 10. In that we've scored 1, but should have 10.

Dalto: How are we not winning? Surely we can't keep missing! Would Rashford and Vardy be missing these chances?

Si: It’s just not Lingard’s day.

    Tunisia 1-1 England

    Chris Waddle
Ex-England winger on BBC Radio 5 live

Give the keeper a bit of credit because he puts Lingard off slightly. We all thought it would hit the post and come back to him, but it trickles out for a goal kick. That's another big chance and this game should be history. Why can't all the chances fall to Harry Kane?
