We've been here before. Spain with the ball on the halfway line. Pretty passes, but not much forward movement. It's like watching a team of Michael Carricks.

On the subject of that Russia substitution, the man introduced, Vladimir Granat, met his wife on the Moscow subway when he gave up his seat for her. He didn't have anything with which to save her number, so had to remember the 11 digits. True story.

Ramos has been fantastic at the back and Isco has controlled things for Spain, but Dzyuba has got the goal for Russia and there cannot be any complaints.

There was more energy and belief from the crowd after the equaliser, and Russia have to play on that in the second half.

in case you need reminding, this tie is in England's half of the draw. If we need them, we'll have extra-time and penalties. The players are heading back out.

Spain need to go for it. They cannot just play possession because this can happen where Russia haven't been in the game, but they are level with a penalty.

Isco is the one with the imagination but again there has been no end product. He has a velcro touch, beautiful. He's such an exciting player to watch but he needs more thrust in his play.

Spain are using the ball but nothing is happening. We haven't seen any danger from the Spanish team apart from the shot from Isco. They just want possession to tray defend but I think it should be the opposite and they should be using possession to attack.
