  1. 'Cuadrado is the danger'published at 19:24 British Summer Time 3 July 2018

    Colombia 0-0 England

    Terry Butcher
Ex-England captain on BBC Radio 5 live

Juan Cuadrado is the one for me, and if you allow him to get on the ball, he is very dangerous for Colombia. John Stones and Harry Maguire have got to concentrate. England have dominated so far but they have got to make it count.

Colombia looking dangerous as Ashley Young loses the ball and England look short at the back. A better ball frees Radamel Falcao but Kyle Walker, last man, is able to adjust his feet and clear it away.

First attack from Colombia. Nice and patient and got some passes together, but England stayed tight and saw off the danger.

Colombia (left) failed to have a touch inside the England penalty area inside the first 20 minutes, compared to England (right) who had plenty.

Davinson Sanchez comes out on top of a duel with Spurs team-mate Harry Kane, good defending by the big man. There's really not much between these two sides, as we expected. The slower the tempo, the more it suits Colombia I can't help but think.

Juan Cuadrado shoots from range, Harry Maguire blocks it and it nearly runs kindly for Radamel Falcao.

Harry Kane is coming very deep to get involved, which may not be the best tactic, but having said that he fizzes a beautiful ball out to Kieran Trippier on the right. Great pass.

We've not seen much from Dele Alli yet.

Well played Kyle Walker. The former Cobblers loanee runs it out from the back, risky, but he backs himself and he beats Radamel Falcao easily. The striker has to foul Walker.

    Colombia 0-0 England

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Spartak Stadium, Moscow

England have made the better start and that delivery from Kieran Trippier, such a weapon for manager Gareth Southgate in this World Cup, is already in evidence.

Not that it appears to have made any difference to the noise levels coming from the Colombian fans.

Sloppy from Jordan Henderson, losing the ball on the left wing, gifts Colombia some possession as England were just looking to crank it up.

Another good move. Nice and positive down that right hand side.

That was a great delivery in terms of whip and pace from Kieran Trippier but just a touch too high. The first real moment of danger.

  15. CLOSE!published at 16 mins

    Colombia 0-0 England

England pressure David Ospina in the Colombian goal and the Arsenal man smashes it clear out of play. Jesse Lingard then gets forward for the first real time, he finds Kieran Trippier, great ball in and Harry Kane heads on to the roof of the net!

That was a chance, although the cross was a bit high for him.

It was a chance for Raheem Streling. Good turn, but he snatched at it a bit.

There are a lot of good angles out there, everyone wants the ball.

  18. Postpublished at 14 mins

England with around 60% of the early possession, Colombia looking to sit in and hit on the break. Gareth Southgate, arms folded in the technical area, looks on.

    Happy enough?
