The Himno Nacional is more commonly known by its opening line ‘Oh Gloria Inmarcesible’ (O Unfading Glory). It was adopted as national anthem in 1920 and can be heard on national radio every day at 6am and 6pm.

It celebrates Colombia’s struggle to win independence from Spain, while the chorus typifies the nation’s optimistic spirit: “In furrows of pain, the good now germinates.”

England fans are vastly outnumbered in the stands but there are little pockets of support. It's yellow everywhere.

Deafening noise welcomes the unfurling of the flags on the pitch. The biggest game in many of these 22 players' lives...

So often in England games at big tournaments, this pre-match buzz is the best bit.

England manager Gareth Southgate tells ITV: "I thought our performance (against Tunisia) was really good and for this game, the midfield runners will be a threat.

"We want to play in the style we have done so far. I have spoken to the players before we got here and we have to continue with the identity. You have to play freely, but with intelligence, we have to be savvy. It is knockout football, we know the basis of our team.

"We have to get on with it, our priority was to get the players fit and available for the game, looking sharp in training and we have done that.

"We need to have mental resilience. We have talked about the style, but in the game there will be a moment with 20,000 Colombians shouting, we have to ignore that and dig in. We have to show the togetherness and humility.

"We are prepared for penalties, absolutely."

We will see what effect making so many changes against Belgium has on England, but I actually think they will be fine against Colombia.

They have some good players, but I don't think they will be able to cope with England's high-pressing game.
