I think Russia should just be a bit more patient. They have got to play few more short passes in the final third rather than always looking for the big man, Artem Dzyuba.

Sime Vrsaljko makes a darting run down the right for Croatia but his cross is blocked and Russia then push forward on the counter attack.

Artem Dzyuba is the target again but there's too many players around him and he's unable to bring it down.

Croatia have had more of the ball but Russia have had it in the right areas.

Ivan Perisic then drives down the left and attempts to whip a cross in but Russian right-back Mario Fernandes blocks it to concede a corner

Sime Vrsaljko plays a lovely first time ball into Ivan Rakitic from the right but he can't quite bring it down for Mario Mandzukic.

Denis Cheryshev and Artem Dzyuba have already had two shots, one on target and a key pass played between them.

We're eight minutes in!

Mario Mandzukic finally has a touch of the ball. But it's Ante Rebic who creates a chance for Croatia as he shrugs off Sergei Ignashevic and fires a low cross into the box.

They win a corner but Dejan Lovren and Rebic can't combine to head it in.

Russia certainly look up for this. Croatia are having to defend.

Golovin escapes down the right this time and crosses it into the box towards Cheryshev. He nods it down for Dzyuba to hit but his volley flies way off target.

I think we have seen more tackles in the first minute here, than we did in the whole England game. They are flying in.

Aleksandr Golovin plays a lovely ball to Artem Dzyuba, who'd made a nice run into the right channel. He lays it off to Denis Cheryshev but the striker is hussled off the ball.
