  1. Anthem timepublished at 14:53 British Summer Time 7 July 2018

    Sweden v England (15:00 BST)

“Du gamla, Du fria" (Thou ancient, Thou free) was written as a poem by Richard Dybeck in 1844 and set to the melody of an old Swedish folk song. It emerged as the de facto anthem in the 1930s, when public radio began playing it at the end of evening transmissions, although the Swedish constitution has never formally acknowledged the song.

  2. 'Find your rhythm'published at 14:53 British Summer Time 7 July 2018

    Sweden v England (15:00 BST)

    Jurgen Klinsmann
Former Germany head coach on BBC One

I think don’t risk anything in the first 25 minutes. Playing out from the back isn’t a must. If you think there’s a risk then play it long to Harry Kane. You’re excited, you’re nervous, you know the country is expecting big things. Find your rhythm first.

Sweden haven't reached a World Cup semi-final since 1994. England haven't reached the last four since 1990.

Someone's 0, has got to go, as they say.

England are unchanged from the side who beat Colombia - Ashley Young and Kyle Walker both overcame minor problems which weren't expected to keep them out anyway.

Jamie Vardy is fit enough to be named on the bench despite a groin injury

Sweden make two changes - both of which were expected. Right-back Mikael Lustig is suspended so Emil Krafth replaces him. And Sebastian Larsson is back from a ban so he takes the place of Gustav Svensson.

The players have to go out there and do what they can, and I don't think anybody can argue with that. No regrets.

    Rio Ferdinand
Former England defender on BBC One

England are a possession-based team because defensively it’s their weakest part of their team. There is an element of risk with playing out from the back. You have to expect mistakes. It's important you can defend once you make the mistake.

One of the most pleasing parts of the team has been the composure on the ball.

    Sweden v England (15:00 BST)

    Alan Shearer
Former England captain on BBC One

That's the one thing we can look to improve on - creating chances. We have created less in open play than anyone else. At times we have been getting in good positions but have been a little bit too safe. Sweden will not want to be hit on the turn.

  9. Lack of movement from Charltonpublished at 14:50 British Summer Time 7 July 2018

Is this going to be the biggest shock of this year's Wimbledon?

Sir Bobby Charlton has not moved out of his Royal Box seat.

The 1966 hero has 10 minutes to turn this around.

Can they find a way today?

Lots of groundstaff now prodding away at the pitch after England and Sweden have completed their warm-ups. Glorious conditions here in Samara. England back in the dressing room for that final talk from manager Gareth Southgate before trying to reach their first World Cup semi-final since 1990.

    Chris Waddle

There's been a lot of work that has been put into the Premier League to give our players the best opportunity. A lot of money has gone into this England setup and they all play in a league with the highest profile, so it's about time they won something.

Harry Kane could become only the third player in the history of the England national team to score in seven consecutive appearances – the others are George Camsell (9 in a row between 1929 and 1936) and Steve Bloomer (10 in a row between 1895 and 1899).
