  1. goal

GOAL - Croatia 1-1 Englandpublished at 68 mins

    Ivan Perisic

    It had been coming!

A fine ball in from Sime Vrsaljko, Ivan Perisic's movement is very good to get in between Kieran Trippier and Kyle Walker and when Walker goes to head it, Perisic has his foot high - illegally high? - to turn home with his studs.

Now then. This is a real test...

    Martin Keown
    Former England defender

We're holding our breath every time Croatia go on the attack. But there's a lot of pride in this England team. They're puffing their chests out and performing very well.

Let's be honest, all England fans would love a second goal now. It's getting tense.

Kyle Walker is back with us. Just about in one piece.

No wonder Kyle Walker needs treatment. My word he blocked that shot with his, er, most sensitive area.

    Give that man an MBE.

  5. CLOSE!published at 65 mins

    Croatia 0-1 England

Croatia are coming! They find Luka Modric on the right, his cross is a good one, John Stones heads it out well and Ivan Perisic then rasps in a shot which is brilliantly blocked!

    That was close...

    Croatia 0-1 England

    Martin Keown
    Former England defender

Harry Kane is pushing really high up onto the Croatian backline. They are having to defend really deep. It's clever from Kane but I wouldn't be having that if I was a defender. You have to defend further up the pitch

No sooner do I type that and Raheem Sterling gets the ball in the area, he wriggles past Domagoj Vida but the defender makes a decent last-gasp tackle. There's a sign of danger at the other end but Kyle Walker puts the afterburners on and eats up the turf.

England's goalscorer has also touched the ball more than any other player wearing white so far - 48 times in the opening hour.

    Croatia 0-1 England

    Trevor Brooking
Former England midfielder on BBC Radio 5 live

England have started a bit low key in the second half. We haven't been too stretched but we haven't kept the ball as well as we did in the first half.

We've just got to keep possession a bit better because I think Croatia are starting to get on top at the moment.

Jordan Pickford punches it out well. Raheem Sterling holds up the ball really well. Well played. Dejan Lovren shoves Jesse Lingard away. He's looked rattled all night.

  19. Pickford not tested yetpublished at 20:13 British Summer Time 11 July 2018

    Croatia 0-1 England

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer in Moscow

England subdued at the start of this second half here - maybe trying to establish a period of consolidation. Croatia enjoying more possession but not testing Jordan Pickford yet. They will be taking just a little encouragement from this period though.
