Chris: England fan on holiday in Split. Never thought we'd get this far. In a bar on the beach full of Croatians. Going to be a bit awkward when we win!

John from Exeter: Watching from rural Romania, in Dracula country. Fingers crossed Kane's got his bite tonight.

Chris B: Sat in a bar with the family and a healthy contingent of England fans in Verona, city of Romeo and Juliet. Will my love affair with this England squad continue into the final or will it end in Shakespearean tragedy? Hoping for the former!

"And now I'm singing three lions on a shirt, Jules Rimet still gleaming..."

Ian Broudie and the Lightning Seeds are whipping up a crowd of 30,000 at Hyde Park ahead of the match on the big screen.

Thousands have gathered for the event while 1,500 miles away in Moscow the same song is being played at the Luzhniki Stadium.

As a player you just want to get out there now. Everyone will have their own routine but you try and treat it like a normal game. If everybody does their job we have a good chance of winning.

World Cup 2018: England fans celebrate across the country

England manager Gareth Southgate on ITV: "It is the next game and we have made the same preparation as we have done for every match so far. We know the opportunity that presents itself.

"The team have played well and performed in the matches that matter and we have great options to change the game. These guys deserve the chance to go and do it again.

"Croatia have some outstanding individuals and they are strong in attacking crosses, they have a great spirit and togetherness. We have to we have to have self-belief too. We have to match everything they throw at us. Have the mental strength in the moments of the game where we will be challenged.

"It is brilliant that we can feel the energy and support from back home. We have to disconnect from it a little because we have a game of football to play.

"We are ready, we trust in the player, the way we work and that does not change.

"Sir Bobby Robson would have told us to enjoy it. It is a privilege to lead the country in a semi-final, not many have done it, and we do not want it to end here."

If only we could bottle this feeling, right? Genuinely feels like the country of England is united. Apart from my colleagues from Scotland and the Republic of Ireland who are currently having the worst week of their professional lives.

Lots of fist pumping going on. To be honest, they don't need to play the song. The England fans could sing it themselves, and they are louder than the speakers anyway.

Mark Hailwood: Watching it from my hotel room in Johannesburg, too stressful to watch in a crowd.

Chris from Bedford: Watching the England game in Luxembourg Airport. Shame that they have no televisions to watch it on.. looks like it's the phone screen or nothing!! Come on England.

Qes: Absolutely devastated. Waiting in Manchester airport, with my flight departing at 19:10. Keeping my fingers crossed that the pilot does live updates throughout the flight. Will be supporting from up in the skies!

But you're on your way to Moscow for the final, right Qes?

England fans may be up in numbers but the same can be said of Croatia's supporters with that spectacular red and white kit splashed around the Luzhniki Stadium. Rousing and thunderous version of what I assume is their version of "Football's Coming Home."

Great support from a proud and passionate country.

I've never seen this before. The goalkeeping coach has put the ball on the cone like a rugby ball and is hitting it high into the sky for Jordan Pickford to rise above Jack Butland and collect it. He's then volleying straight-as-an-arrow passes out to Nick Pope. Pickford's not missed a target yet.
