Thousands have gathered for the event while 1,500 miles away in Moscow the same song is being played at the Luzhniki Stadium.

As a player you just want to get out there now. Everyone will have their own routine but you try and treat it like a normal game. If everybody does their job we have a good chance of winning.

England manager Gareth Southgate on ITV: "It is the next game and we have made the same preparation as we have done for every match so far. We know the opportunity that presents itself.

"The team have played well and performed in the matches that matter and we have great options to change the game. These guys deserve the chance to go and do it again.

"Croatia have some outstanding individuals and they are strong in attacking crosses, they have a great spirit and togetherness. We have to we have to have self-belief too. We have to match everything they throw at us. Have the mental strength in the moments of the game where we will be challenged.

"It is brilliant that we can feel the energy and support from back home. We have to disconnect from it a little because we have a game of football to play.

"We are ready, we trust in the player, the way we work and that does not change.

"Sir Bobby Robson would have told us to enjoy it. It is a privilege to lead the country in a semi-final, not many have done it, and we do not want it to end here."

If only we could bottle this feeling, right? Genuinely feels like the country of England is united. Apart from my colleagues from Scotland and the Republic of Ireland who are currently having the worst week of their professional lives.

As England have one of the youngest teams at the World Cup, it's fitting that the kids of England have sent their good luck messages to the team.

England fans may be up in numbers but the same can be said of Croatia's supporters with that spectacular red and white kit splashed around the Luzhniki Stadium. Rousing and thunderous version of what I assume is their version of "Football's Coming Home."

Great support from a proud and passionate country.

I've never seen this before. The goalkeeping coach has put the ball on the cone like a rugby ball and is hitting it high into the sky for Jordan Pickford to rise above Jack Butland and collect it. He's then volleying straight-as-an-arrow passes out to Nick Pope. Pickford's not missed a target yet.

Luckily the rules have changed since 1990 so there is NO DANGER of this happening again...

Although any player who gets a straight red would miss the final.
