Kylian Mbappe is very special. I spoke to Arsene Wenger recently and he had followed him from the age of 13 and Arsene knew here was a kid that could shock the world - and Kylian has done.

He has risen to the occasion and his performance against Argentina was his World Cup statement. He knows where to go, is instinctive, very creative, can use both feet and for his age is very mature.

Terrific noise inside the Luzhniki now. Yes, if you support England today could have been so big. But they're not, so just sit back and enjoy the ride, right?

I think Kylian Mbappe has given us more WOW moments than anyone. Whether it is his pace, his turns or his cheeky flicks.

    France v Croatia (16:00 BST)

    Didier Drogba
Phoenix Rising and former Ivory Coast striker on BBC One

I think the experience of losing the Euro 2016 final will be big for France because it was so bad for the country. They have come here for this tournament with the desire to forget what happened two years ago and to win this trophy.

The battle in the midfield will be key with N'Golo Kante and Paul Pogba against Ivan Rakitic and Luka Modric, it will be amazing. France are relaxed because they have been through a difficult time, they know know the mistakes they have made in the past, but they know they are in control now.

Didier Deschamps was described as “a water carrier” by Eric Cantona during his playing days, but he earned 103 caps and captained France to victory at the 1998 World Cup and Euro 2000. He led Marseille to the Champions League title in 1993 and at the age of 24 became the youngest captain to lift the trophy.

He won the competition again three years later with Juventus. In total, he won nine major titles in France and Italy before adding an FA Cup winners’ medal in 2000 in his only season at Chelsea. He lost in a third Champions League final in 2001 with Valencia, under Egypt coach Hector Cuper, before retiring aged 32.

Can he win the Cup as a coach as well as a player?

I remember the 1998 final as it if were yesterday. This is my seventh World Cup final watched on TV (I was in the car listening in to 1990) - let's hope it's the best.

Fingers crossed! Need both teams to score IMO.

Kylian Mbappe will be a huge threat for this French team. There were times when Raheem Sterling got in behind this Croatia defence with pace when they played England. France are a counter-attacking team at heart and they do it wonderfully well.

Their first thought is to flood the box. They will do that against Croatia today. Croatia will need to be cute and use the experience they have to not allow France to exploit it.

  20. 'Perisic is a fantastic player'published at 15:36 British Summer Time 15 July 2018

    France v Croatia (16:00 BST)

    Jurgen Klinsmann
Former Germany head coach on BBC One

Ivan Perisic is constantly involved in the game, he never switches off, he is a fantastic player.

This understanding Croatia have with the attacking midfielders and forwards has not happened overnight. It is a process of two, four, six years.
