Yanic Wildschut's 89th-minute winner at West Brom gave Phil Parkinson's Bolton a dream start to the Championship season. The Trotters were deserved winners at The Hawthorns against last season's Premier League outfit.

“It was always going to be a tough game but I thought that we were excellent," Parkinson said.

“I was worried that West Brom would be lifted by their goal but credit to our boys, they kept going and we got our rewards in the end with a terrific finish from Yanic.

“We always felt that we could give West Brom problems and we stressed to the lads before the game that we were not coming to sit back and soak up pressure. When we attacked we looked dangerous."

Swansea match-winner Yan Dhanda tells Sky Sports: "The manager asked me to enjoy myself. It still doesn't feel real. The manager's trying to build something and you saw a little bit of what we're trying to do."

It's a winning start for new Swansea boss Graham Potter, who sees his side come from behind to win at Sheffield United.

The match sparked into life after a forgettable first hour and Yan Dhanda's winner will send the travelling support home to south Wales very happy indeed.

I have to say that Jefferson Montero has been outstanding since coming off the bench for Swansea early in the second half. He's terrorised the Sheffield United defence.

Daniel Farke confessed he feels "five years older" after Norwich twice came from behind to secure a late point at St Andrew's.

Birmingham thought they had won it in the 89th minute before Onel Hernandez scored his second goal of the afternoon in the fourth minute of stoppage time.

"I'm not sure I can handle 46 gamedays! I feel at least five years older today," Farke told BBC Radio Norfolk.

"It was a crazy game, full of emotion. The first game is always special as everyone is a bit nervous.

"To be able to come back in the 94th minute with a late equaliser was crazy but it is why we all love this game."

In the day's lunchtime kick-off in League One, a late 2-1 loss to Sunderland made a bad week worse for Lee Bowyer's Charlton after they lost midfielder Jake Forster-Caskey to a severe knee injury on Thursday.

"We prepared all week to play a different formation and we had to change it after losing Jake," Bowyer told BBC Radio London.

"We have never played three at the back under myself. They did very well to adapt that quickly.

"Football is a cruel game at times. They didn't deserve to lose today."

Sheffield United introduce their new loan signing Ben Woodburn from the bench in place of David McGoldrick.

The Liverpool and Wales forward is a real talent and one to watch in the Championship this term.

He's got 20 minutes or so to make an impact on his Blades debut.

"This was a cold splash of water in our face," said Rotherham boss Paul Warne, as he reflected on a bruising first game back in the Championship for his side at Brentford.

"We played against a very good footballing side, which was not an ideal first fixture back in the Championship. They fully deserved the win and were by far the better team in every dimension.

“This is the standard. When you’re promoted you have a honeymoon spell over the summer, and maybe us coming here and being out-performed is the eye-opener we needed.

“The big positive is that we don’t have to come back here again this season. They are a great team who will turn plenty of sides over. They are good players individually."
