    Preston 2-1 Stoke

Stoke are really struggling to get anything going in the final third.

It's all a bit messy once again between James McClean and Benik Afobe and the ball bounces away.

Afobe may as well pull up a deckchair for all the service he's getting.

Preston's Alan Browne is down after landing heavily following a skewed header from a corner.

Stoke boss Gary Rowett had plenty to say to referee Andy Madley as he made his way back out.

He's furious about that clash between Paul Gallagher and Joe Allen before the break, where Gallagher appeared to use his forearm/elbow.

The referee looks to be saying that he didn't see it because his view was blocked. VAR in the Championship anyone?

Middlesbrough stayed top of the Championship thanks to a 2-0 win at Bristol City.

Boro boss Tony Pulis said he was "absolutely delighted with the result" but feels there is room for improvement.

"We've got to get more quality in. It's not about getting players in who are as good as what we've got it's about getting players in who are better than what we've got," he told BBC Tees.

"I know what I want and I know what we need, it's just whether we can get there.

"Stuff is moving on but it's moving on slowly."

QPR slumped to the bottom of the Championship table after being thumped 7-1 by West Brom with the Baggies scoring six second-half goals at The Hawthorns.

New boss Steve McClaren is still looking for his first win as R's boss and conceded the result was a "wake-up call for everybody".

"I’m shocked and couldn’t believe the collapse," he told BBC Radio London.

"We finished the first half on top but we made too many individual errors and they punished us. They collapsed and it is unacceptable for the fans and the club.

"It is a wake-up call to everybody, especially myself. I never saw that coming in pre-season or in the first three games.

"The squad is talented and has good young players but we need a little bit more around it. I think the squad needs strengthening and we are working tirelessly behind the scenes."
